He's 34 , his time is coming to an end, you are not getting the prime Messi.

He is still significantly better than any other player out there of any age.

I get not thinking he would come. I can even somewhow get preferring he didn't come. But thinking he isn't good enough to want here, I just can't get.

Plenty of twists and turns to this (again). Barca calling La Liga's bluff but nothing to say that will work. Pep cooled his interest and moved on after last summer/January but you can bet now he's potentially available we'll be all over it. We're looking for a goal scorer and Messi is the best in the world in terms of goals and assists. Kane gives you a plan B which I like and has longer in him on paper. But Messi undoubtedly gives you more on and off the pitch for the short term.

It's such a tricky one. If asked who would you rather have at the club, you have to say Messi over Kane simply because regardless of what it does to the club long term it's fucking massive!

This is a 3 horse race.

PSG, City & Chelsea are the only clubs with the filthy moulah to afford him.

PSG have a weak league where he won't have to engage too much & Paris.
City have Guardiola and the most complete team out of the 3 (a chance to enjoy playing again, but the worst environment)
Chelsea are european champions and have London (both of which, weirdly, could count against them)
No reports city or chelsea are in for him, its all psg atm

It doesn’t have to be one Vs the other Messi will pay for himself

I know this will sound incredibly naive but why won’t Messi play for Barcelona for free for a couple of years ? He’s been at the Club for 21 years and has probably earned hundreds of million during that time. He doesn’t need the money but it looks like his Club does. Doesnt he owe them ? I know loyalty is an overrated commodity these days but this would be a great time for Mr Messi to demonstrate some.

Maybe not financially but squad wise it wouldn't make sense to sign both unless we're going to start selling players. It would hugely disrupt the balance of the squad. You'd have Jesus, Kane, Messi, Grealish, Torres, Foden, De Bruyne, Bernardo, Mahrez, Sterling battling out for 5 positions.

There would be no point signing Kane, and I'm sure he wouldn't want to join unless he was given assurances he'd be the main man. No striker at his level will play second fiddle regardless of who that might be. They could play together of course, but don't think we need both.

Agreed but rich men never seem to have enough money
