West UP 114 to 2554 V 2420

Modest rises but both up slightly week to week

COMBINING THESE TWO INTO ONE AS THE NHS DOES TOTALS 5197 - STILL THE LARGEST REGION THOUGH LONDON IS NOT FAR BEHIND

NORTH

North East UP 246 to 1397 V 1470 - Still falling week to week here JUST. But like everywhere FLAT.

Yorkshire UP 195 to 3436 V 3259 - up week to week too.

NE & YORKSHIRE as Zoe and the NHS combines these two for the hospital data and this is now the second biggest area with 4833 cases. Not far behind the Midlands.

AND

NORTH WEST DOWN 152 to 3456 V 3373 - ONLY REGION TO FALL BUT LIKE THE REST UP WK TO WK BUT BY SUCH A MODEST NUMBER IT IS EFFECRIELY FLAT

Past weeks NW numbers are 3373 - 3311 - 2939 - 2451 - 2265 - 3195 - 3608 - 3456

Equivalent NW numbers a week earlier 4172 - 3615 - 3464 - 3281 - 2683 - 2999 - 3588 - 3373

Look at the week to weeks above:-

DOWN 799 - DOWN 304 - DOWN 525 - DOWN 830 - DOWN 418 - UP 196 - UP 20 - UP 83

FLAT!

GM numbers in past week 1331 - 1402 - 1160 - 906 - 901 - 1279 - 1486 - 1452

GM numbers week before 1623 - 1618 - 1410 - 1330 - 1068 - 1251 - 1381 - 1331

Wk to wk :-

DOWN 292 - DOWN 216 - DOWN 250 - DOWN 424 - DOWN 167 - UP 28 - UP 105 - UP 121

We will see where this goes over the next 3 or 4 days when numbers tend to fall.

Total in GM from the NW cases Total 42,0%. It was 41.2% yesterday and 39.5% a week ago.

So edging up as worse days by GM v NW recently. VIa Manchester, Salford, Stockport and Trafford mostly.

Full GM details

Total cases 1452 - DOWN 34 on Yesterday - The whole NW was DOWN by 152

Slightly less in GM than should be - around 65/70

Wk to wk UP 121 when the NW is UP JUST 83

So well over the expected rise here of about 35/40 here too.

So not good news for GM today . Though again small numbers so damage minimal.

And you can see below it is just a few boroughs doing badly (eg Stockport and Trafford) versus others going the right way (such as Rochdale and Wigan). Manchester is still too high also and Salford goes from one extreme to another also.

BOROUGH / CASES TODAY / V YESTERDAY / V LAST WEEK

BOLTON 100 / UP 5 / UP 4

BURY 99 / UP 2 / UP 13

MANCHESTER 314 / DOWN 41 / UP 24

OLDHAM 139 / UP 18 / UP 37

ROCHDALE 90 / DOWN 31 / DOWN 13

SALFORD 176 / DOWN 15 / DOWN 19

STOCKPORT 166 / UP 14 / UP 44

TAMESIDE 107 / UP 1 / LEVEL

TRAFFORD 142 / UP 21 / UP 52

WIGAN 119 / DOWN 8 / DOWN 21

Mixed day.

Just 2 sub 100 and only just and Stockport and Trafford had the worst day. Up quite a bit day to day and week to week.

Wigan still falling best.

Greater Manchester

Weekly total cases:-

Bolton 546, Bury 559, Tameside 616 , Rochdale 625, Trafford 726, Wigan 759, Oldham 823, Stockport 917, Salford 1040 , Manchester 1975

Bolton stay top - from worst to best rehabilitation now complete post Delta.

Think this is the first time Bolton has ever been lowest weekly scorer in GM.

Wigan has also turned it round big in past two weeks. Gone from threatening Manchester up top tp now in the pack chasing down Bolton for lowest weekly cases.

Stockport's ongoing high numbers see it going the opposite way - again be good to find out why given its best in GM vaccination numbers. But as Bolton has gone from highest to lowest SK has gone in a few weeks from best in GM under 100 in total to threatening to be only behind Manchester which should always have the most cases in GM as it is much the largest borough.

GM Weekly Pop Data after yesterday:~

Borough / Pop Today / 7 days ago / up or down wk to wk/ Testing is % of local population who have tested positive for Covid over past year.

As ever with Pop going up is bad, going down good - the higher the number the better or worse depending on direction moving. The Pop is total cases in past week versus 100,000 POPulation to even out the comparison versus size and expected cases based on numbers living there.

NUMBERS WILL SLOWY RESET THEMSELVES OVER NEXT 6 DAYS DUE TO THE POPULATION RECALCULATION YESTERDAY THAT CHANGED A LOT.

THE DAILY POP SCORES ARE NOW BACK TO NORMAL

Oldham 317 / 363 / DOWN 46Testing positive 13.8%

Bury 311 / 304 / UP 4 Testing positive 12.7%

Trafford 295 / 296 / DOWN 1 Testing positive 10.6%

Manchester 285 / 349 / DOWN 64 Testing positive 13.8%

Stockport 285 / 306 / DOWN 21 Testing positive 10 5%

Tameside 240 / 335 / DOWN 95 Testing positive 11.6%

Rochdale 206 / 354 / DOWN 148 Testing positive 13.5%

Salford 203 / 421 / DOWN 218 Testing positive 13.3%

Bolton 158 / 245 / DOWN 87 Testing positive 13.4%

Wigan 151 / 324 / DOWN 173 Testing positive 12.9%

Wigan also lost a lot of Population points as likely it's Population boomed in past year.

Now overtakes Bolton at the best part of the table. Wigan has really turned it round big - following Bolton's lead

Stockport up by 57 now 10, 456.

Trafford up slightly more - 59 - - taking it up to 10, 561.

So Stockport's lead for the best overall Pop Score across the pandemic rises by 2 to 105.

Rochdale up 41 - to 13, 491.

But Bolton again was easily the lowest Pop Score at 35 - taking it up to 13, 402.

Bury up 52 to 12, 764 .

Manchester up same as Stockport - 57 - to 13, 821

Oldham up 59 - to 13, 845 which increases its lead by 2 on the highest GM Pop Score across the pandemic over Manchester - now ahead by 24.

Salford is the biggest in GM today going up by 67 to on 13, 296 . Coincidentally the same score it was on 3 days ago before the population redu=istribution saw its POP fall hugely yesterday.

Tameside up 47 to 11, 585

And Wigan just failed to catch Bolton as lowest riser today up 36 - one more than BL - .

Now on 12, 911 - delaying entry into the 13 K club probably until Sunday or maybe even Monday given how well it is doing.

I posted in support of healdplace and it's been deleted. What's all that about?!?
My posts in reply to them have gone too.

I had no issue with the post I saw from Worzel - it is a reasonable thing to say given how prolific I am. They would not know that I use templates that cuts the time and just needs the daily data slotting in rather than writing all from scratch every day.

Nor that writing has been my career so I am used to doing a lot of it every day!

Perhaps whilst I was posting other stuff the replies got out of hand but I was too busy posting data to notice if it did!

Apologies to the MODs if I caused you some clean up work.

At least now they won’t be able to spread a dangerous message to everybody, Covid is taking thousands of lives and leaving others really sick long term.
R.I.P. those two they paid the ultimate price

I know of a 19 yr old who sadly died of Covid in the next icu, bed was a man in his seventies who lived. Your gambling with your life so do the right thing and get the vaccine please.
