I don't believe that City had no idea about Barcelona's impending situation. I suspect the reason we're not after Messi is because Manchester isn't his or his families place to live.

PSG will be desperate to land him, he's right up their street of buying a "globe trotter" type of team and they will pay whatever to have him in their team, way more than us.

You are also ignoring the other 18 players in the squad and the coach and laying the blame plainly on someone who had 30 goals and 11 assists in 35 La Liga games. Fake news! Txiki definitely spoke with Messi’s representatives yesterday and the club were looking at how they could make the numbers work. If he does end up in Paris (as looking the case) I’m assuming either we couldn’t or more likely the deal was too far gone with PSG.

Really hope the comments about us not making an approach isn’t true.

From a competitive viewpoint I really don’t get how City could let PSG have a free run at signing him. As it stands we still don’t have a striker and this makes PSG ultimately much stronger despite who we end up with.

The Champs League is obviously the last jewel in the crown that Pep and the club are desperate for, so to just not be interested doesn’t make sense to me.
