Leicester (N) - Community Shield | Post-Match Thread

Disgusting coverage of us by matterface and dixon, lost count of the sly digs about money, squad size, chances created, controlled the 2nd half but you wouldn't think so listening to them 2 biased twats
The agenda is that they're all hoping we fail. That's a bigger story for them than us winning the PL again. Bigging up Leicester as the plucky underdogs and picking holes in us left, right and centre. Expecting a lot more of the same this season.

I sort of agree, but in places like Spain and Italy where they care more about it this game is played during the football season rather than in preseason when most of the better players have been away on international duty.
With how last season ended I really saw this as an opportunity to get the positive feeling back at the club. It may not be prestigious trophy but professional footballers love winning especially when there is a trophy on offer.

That I agree on

The team put out doesn’t represent what our team will be in meaningful matches

Never been to a charity shield game as it’s a glorified friendly

Fair play to you and others who spent their hard earned money going

But my point is that is not a team we will see regularly

By the way can’t stick antiques roadshow
Feran does fuck all

for me itwas a no win game for city ? we win it and its well £100million player sat on the bench plus multi millions sat watching after euros. the money city spend you should be winning today will be the media cry . but i laughed my bollocks off at the ITV panel clueless fuckers ?

fitness wise we are miles away and players will have to come in cold ? its not a good thing with city and our style of play and like today one sloppy moment cost you the goal. its more mental sharpness than body fitness and today ake turns off and a stone wall pen

pep will back the players to the end. he will be saying all the right things and knows 5 players that was missing are the cream of this team

can we get kane in next week would be my question ? even if he has to miss out playing for city vs spurs
just getting a striker to take control of the front line is so clearly missing from this squad. its like having a best/biggest guns in the world but using rubber bullets
I don't think that Ake 'switched off', I think he signalled to Rodri to play the ball to someone else. As I saw it, Rodri played him into the shit, leaving him exposed.

I thought it was alright, overall. We played more than a couple of academy lads, more than a couple of bench players during, in what is essentially a glorified pre-season game, and still conceded no goals in open play to the FA Cup Winner's strongest team. Obviously it was far from a great performance but it's also far from the end of the world.

Shame for Ake, he looked tidy before the penalty. Palmer looked nice for his age. Mendy also decent. Ferna was a little off the pace and you could genuinely have fooled me that Torres wasn't playing. I still don't buy the idea of him as second striker yet. Grealish looked good. I'm sure we'll see something more organised and quality against Spurs.

To be fair he’s even a miserable bastard when he’s commentating on England.

Palmer and Edozie did Ok and it was a great expereience for them , but if we really wanted to win the game then Rodri and Bernardo should have played the first 60 minutes , when i looked a the starting line up compared to Leicester's i thought we were on for a hiding and but for Steffen and Dias it would have been.
We need some rapid progress in the next few days to get a result at Spuds.

Or you could just ignore the ones that irritate you like most people, and post your own opinions about the game where and when you see fit.

I'll never understand the people on here who constantly whine about game day and post match threads. It's boring and pedantic as all fuck. Opinion during game day is often emotional. It's often negative. It's often overly critical. That's football, and it's not specific to us - get used to it.

I end up saying the same in every post match thread. I'm at the home games when the seasons are normal and so rarely post in there then. At the games I get behind the lads to encourage them to better efforts, on a forum you can't do that. If someone drops a bollock or is playing shit you can say it without it affecting the players confidence. What are people supposed to write, "He's playing great" if he's not? By the hysterical over reaction of some posters you'd think every comment was being relayed straight into the players heads as they play. "Get behind the lads!" they'll cry. Haven't they noticed they're sat at home watching it on the box hundreds of miles from the lads?

The thread whingers are worse than the ones making a comment they deem to think is negative. I had one jump straight on me because I dared to say I thought Pep should bring on Grealish and Bernardo for the second half, lol. He was then on a mission jumping on every post before calling me a boring negative ****. The man works at a school too, I hope it's cutting the grass not actually teaching!

A succession of equally basic pm's led to me telling him to put me on ignore, end of his problems. Hopefully he's done so.

Defensive midfield is worrying me a lot

Ferna looked old today, never been convinced on Rodri
Thought the same.

Dinho is definitely showing his years, and we partly renewed his contract because Rodri isnt the genuine article - Ndidi showed him how to play DM today, and i dont think he would be good enough for us either.

It is a concern,as the EDS potential is only that at present.
