Spurs (A) | Post-Match Thread

Clearly nowhere near match fit yet, walking around when we’re 1-0 down. Got into a few promising positions when Kev came on but then resorted to hopeful ( or hopeless) punts into Lloris’s hands. Not unexpected but still a real bummer.

Agreed. Add the fact we had a rag reffing the game and you realise how inevitable this result was.
 
Got a feeling ten minutes in that we weren’t for scoring
Once I remembered the chances we’d missed in the 3 previous visits to that ground

Cup final for them. Especially against us with the Kane issue, their players were so so up for it. The crowd did make a difference for them too. We really needed a goal in those first 15 mins to get them quiet.

In terms of players, Mendy,
Cancelo and to a lesser extent Torres all looked sub-standard.

As an aside, the ‘great new refereeing’ looks like in part it will be a licence to foul our players.

I wonder if they’ll play like that in all their other home games.

Last point for me, I’m so glad that I’ve just sacked off Sky sports, and this is the last time I’ll have to watch their presentation of one of our matches.

Yes I`ve dared to say it but some subs should have used right after half time.He continued to use some shit performances as a "we`ll get out of this mess" but it backfired.

his stubbornness has led us to be the most successful team in England. Not a great performance, but plenty of of games and players to come back yet
 
Mendy and Ake are dewy, poor players and unfortunately Ferna is also showing that he is not up to the mark anymore.
 
Honestly not a lot to take away from that other than we looked rusty. But sometimes even when you look rusty, big characters can pull you through and there wasn't enough of that on the pitch.
 
If you don't put away your chances, you always run the risk of losing to their only shot on target, we've seen that so many times before.

Ratboy giving Tananga MOTM is a fucking joke, he should have been booked after 5 minutes, but Alty Taylor (who showed his true colours in the last 5 minutes), let him foul at will.

Sky are fucking breathless, hope they fucking choke on their words at the end of the season.
 
Spurs beat us last season and still won fuck all so they can wave as many flags as they want. We need the B team to perform and they failed so squad as whole needs to step up. If we put in a performance like that with full strength first teamers then I'll be worried. Long way to go. Grealish is different gravy and love how he bollocked that snidey **** Lucas.
 
We were poor besides the first 15 minutes. We looked like what I was expecting, a team with no pre season, no cohesion, and no touch.

Spurs got it spot on up front with their pace and exposing the gaping hole on our left Mendy left over and over again. Thought Fernandinho looked leggy or slow. Up front we showed nothing of note, besides a few chances early, but still thought we should have gone in 1 up at half time with the Fernandinho & Mahrez misses.

Thought Grealish showed a bit, the cameo of him and Kev together for 10 minutes showed what will come later on in the season.

Not expecting our best football until October, so not that angry as I'd normally be with a loss.

Sign Kane asap. Drop Mendy he's a liability.

PS- play a under 18 left back, refs seems to baby them through games like Spurs right back which was laughable
 
Wasn't expecting us to get anything with such a poor preseason and playing at that stadium where they always beat us and Son always scores against us. We're such a one-paced team - we really lack the sharpness and speed of most of the other teams. Still, we started off last season very slowly and it's going to take 8 games to get up to full speed. Let's hope the gap by then isn't insurmountable.
 
A game of two parts. First 20 mins very good, then the next 70 awful.

Some thoughts:
Raheem has to stop playing LW, everyone has him figured out.
Mendy shouldn't play for City again, not good enough by a mile.
If Kane was on the pitch we'd have been 2 or 3 up in the first 20.
 
Our officials shouldn’t leave that stadium unless Kane is on the coach.

False 9’s won’t win the title now football is back to normal.

Expected a slow start but with Leicester, Chelsea and Liverpool as our next three away games we have to get into form quick.

Norwich and Arsenal games should be classed as pre-season games for KDB, Stones, Zinchenko, Grealish, Walker, Sterling and Kane.
 
I cannot halp but feel that any PL striker watching our games is drooling at the chances we create - but then laughing at how many we spurn. Two shots on target , Harringay! We had four, but if the Torres one in the 80s was owt to go by I must think that Lloris thought we were passing back!
 
I think people underestimate the importance of Home game and fans this season. You could see Spurs growing in confidence with the fans
