I just dont think we can afford a poor start again, all 3 main rivals will be stronger than they were simple as that. Liverpool wont have the CB nightmare they had, Chelsea got Lukaku and Tuchel will not lose all those points Lampard lost carelessly while even United does replacing Dan James with Sancho and Lindelof with Varana, both quality upgrades.

Also teams will die on the pitch to cause issues to the Champions, look today Spurs fighting for it so strong, then they lose to Burnley in couple of weeks.

Same yesterday the same Leeds, Norwich, Palace who were wide open to be murdered by our rivals will sit deep, park the bus an hit us on the counter if they can when they play us.

today defensively was very poor, Mendy and Ake are not first chic and they should not be. but our midfield has a big hole if you take away Bernardo's pressing, workrate. Grealish aint replacing that, he might add some energy, creativity on our left side, but not midfield power, workrate...
are we planning Rodri or Fernandinho alone holding up counters? will not work.

upfront we were criminal, and someone like Mahrez who had full break, no Euros, best pre season to get himself in form doing fuck all both today and Leicester game, thats a problem.
and then how clinical we need to be and how baffling it is to see us losing because we cannot score from good chances?

Torres and Jesus both good likeable guys, but no defence is scared of them and that means they happy to face them because they close them out fairly easily and stop them from scoring and even if they are presented with good chances, they more likely miss than score.

for Txiki, clear message this game, replace Aguero before we face Norwich, simple as that.

City's attacking play is all around the edges, I'd like to see Grealish play more central so he can affect the play on either side.

Hopefully this is just a lack of fitness but Ferna looked like he was running in treacle at times, I hope this doesn’t prove to be one season to many for him. I know we are looking to spunk 100 million plus on Kane but fuck me we look bad in the middle of the park. We lack real energy and zip in there and it’s not if Rodri comes in and sorts that out. To my mind we would have been better off spending money on a dm and a left back and maybe some like laurinto or Andre silva instead. We are going to struggle if that midfield continues to get over run like that against a medicore side like spurs boasting a midfield of Skipp,Ali and hoijberg. And since when can you get chance after chance to foul someone and keep getting away with it, utter bollox that.

And why is Son so dislikeable. For some reason I can’t stand him but I can’t work out why.

Lack of a proper pre-season an obvious factor, but there were some woeful performances regardless. Mahrez, Sterling and Cancelo all ineffective and there are no words that can do justice to Mendy.
The alarming thing again was that we were utterly toothless going forward, yet wide open on the counter. The lack of pace throughout the team is a concern as well, to the point that as soon as the opposition scores it’s game over. United at the Etihad, Chelsea 3 times in 6 weeks, Spurs today. We just don’t have the legs to cope with teams who have quick, direct attacking players
Grealish gave a good account of himself and Torres did ok, but that’s pretty much it in the plus column

Agree with this. Pep did get it wrong today and never changed the mistakes he made, Leaving substitutes far too late to make an impact.
Walker is a naturally fit player I would of thought he was a certain starter and also never even brought him on.
Mendy and Ake on the same side of the pitch is a no go shouldn't even be contemplated.
