Harry Kane

Maybe somebody should. Ask yourself why we've just started a new season without a striker when we've all known for well over a year that Agüero wouldn't be here.
And this is not the first time that we've been left without adequate replacements for players who have left.
Yet we continue to expand our trophy haul and be favourites for every competition we enter.
In regards to the striker situation, there was the Euros, which England reached the final of. That meant a period of rest for the players after. Grealish only signed 2 weeks ago, but his transfer was more straight forward due to his release clause.

Kane's transfer is taking time due to two further elements - the unfortunate timing of our fixture v Spurs and one Daniel Levy. I would suspect it will be concluded this week, now the the fixture is out of the way.

What would you have done if you had Txiki's job? What would you have done, and who would you have signed to ensure that by the time we kicked off at half 4 yesterday we had a striker signed up to replace Aguero?

Flappers out in force I see
You can say flappers if you like! But how are we going to progress? We can’t carry on winning the Carabao Cup and Premier League and only making it to the semi final of the FA Cup and final of the Champions League with this fucking squad! We’re doomed! Doomed I tell you!

Add to that there’s only enough Semi Skimmed Cravendale for the cafetière this morning which means I’ll have to forego the Bite Size Shredded Wheat for Hovis Toast. And there’s only two slices of that! Shit planning. We knew we were short of milk and bread yesterday and did fuck all about it. No sympathy.

We created 2.24 xG yesterday and Spurs had a clean sheet.

Man United created 1.16 xG against Leeds and had 5 goals.

We need Kane. You can deny it all you want but the false 9 system only works continuously season after season if the individual playing that role is Leo Messi. For that matter the false 9 Leo Messi tactic also had an expiry date, which coincided with Guardiola leaving Barcelona.

With all due respect, you must have been watching a different game. While, admittedly, our failings weren't limited to the forward line, we created sufficient chances yesterday to come away with at least a point had we started with a decent forward. We were lacking any physical presence up front.
Lol. Read properly my friend. I agree with you completely.

Defensive midfield looks weak as does left back.

But you don't notice these weaknesses when the rest of the squad is on song.
Its been 2 seasons without a proper left back - Mendy should be playing league 1 level football how gets into the team is beyond any sane persons judgement and Rodri is not the answer in Midfield resembles a tank - far too slow
- still Kane will be coming and at least he knows where the back or the net is !

At the very least not relied on Raheem Sterling and Gabriel Jesus to be our main goal threats.

We have had different CFs move in different summers and City missed the boat with quite a few them. Example - Felix who moved to Atleti.

Ok maybe CFs are a rarity, we can count that out.

Why has the squad moved 7 transfer windows without signing a LB? Are you sure that there are no LBs in the world who would improve us?

Are you sure that since the last 6 transfer windows the club was unable to find someone who fits in a similar profile to Fernandinho? Yes they signed Rodri, but he isn't a similar profile to Fernandinho and he is more suited to a different set of games.

If you evaluate a job performance with the baseline set at perfection, then everything will look like failure. A more realistic outlook would require a re-calibration of that baseline. Maybe the job is so difficult that being a 7/10 puts you top of the table. Don't let perfect be the enemy of good.

High profile transfers do take time but I can't believe we've not addressed the midfield, and left back situations. In addition to this, Ake at CB isn't the answer either as a back up and it's obvious Laporte will also be playing second fiddle which he doesn't want. There's 3 areas without the striker situation. The Euros won't have helped preparations but we can all see the issues, why can't they?
Left back is not as big a problem because Cancelo plays well there. And Zinchenko.

Defensive midfield worries me. Fernandinho is old. Rodri is not very agile and hitherto has struggled to convince. Was Rodri really not ready to start at Spurs?

We were a long way short at Spurs. Disappointed with Pep. We had great players in Jesus and Sterling and did not use them properly.

Um, Lukaku wasn't signed in time to play for their game last weekend so that undermines your point?
Not what I was referring to, but that they moved on after seeing a deal for Haaland wouldn’t be reached to signing him quickly, whereas supposedly we have known our target for a long time and still can’t close the deal

I don't know, i'm not Txiki or Pep, and neither is InnsbruckBlue who is flapping more than a flappy flapper - after one game.

I trust the board and I trust Pep. They've done fairly well so far i'd say.
Anyone who makes an argument that you don't agree with is a flapper. Even pep said last season we needed a striker but we couldn't afford one. I will hold my reservations till the end of transfer window but if we don't get any striker by the end of it , I think, we mismanaged the situation. We have again let pep go into the season without a striker which should have been our first priority after we let Kun go.
