Harry Kane

"done deal"

I feel very sorry for you. You are putting your hard earned money (I presume you go to games) into supporting a club that has gone backwards for the past 3 years.

You have a chairman more interested in shouting "hoorah" and "go murica" to secure deals for an NFL team to play there whilst tieing a huge noose around the club with a 1bn stadium that is at best this season, hosting some lads from the local leagues in eastern europe via some 3rd rate UEFA competition organised to drain even more money from football.

What a truly amazing job he is doing.

Interesting from The Telegraph story that he won't put in an official transfer request. The idea is that if he does that, he'll be penalised financially somehow, maybe foregoing a loyalty bonus.

If everyone was in such a rush that's obviously a card that needs to be played. It would add to the money for Spurs but for some reason, they're keeping it back.

My guess is that when City go in with a final offer, Kane will submit a formal transfer request as well.
Or maybe all is agreed and all just waiting for details to occur of a Conditional sale?

Fair comment up until:
>> Fantasy football this is not.

Well, no kidding.

The TL/DR summary of my concerns about this transfer window: we've known that we needed strengthening in several positions for months going into the window - and so far we've signed no one to fill any of these spots. Meanwhile we've broken the English transfer record on an extremely good and exciting player, but this signing doesn't shore up any of the positions at which we are weakest.

Yes, we can only pursue what's on offer - but going into this season without any upgrade at LB, DM or if Laporte leaves - some sort of replacement at CB - and if the Kane deal falls through - no top class striker in our side...

Well yeah...

Put in mathematical terms - my "fantasy football" wishlist of common sense signings

union our actual signings to date

is the null set.
My only defence is that it was late and drink had been taken.
I looked at my post this morning and decided that it was not one of my best.

At least I got on alright until the last bit. :-)

Cheers mate.

Both of us are true blue - let's hope we sign Kane and have a fantastic season!

I have to admit I'm completely flapping about this now.

Not so much we'll miss Kane as an individual but really facing the prospect of not having a striker all season.
