It’s baffling.

Bernardo is a superb player. He was instrumental in us getting as far as we did in the CL last season, and was easily among our best three performers in the last third of the season (Foden and Stones being the other two).
Tbh I didn't think Bernardo was so good last season kind of felt he went missing a lot miles away from his 2019 form

Voted draw as I think we will struggle to score again and they may nick one and defend for their lives. They will not be as open as they were against the dippers that’s for sure

If KDB is fit he goes in for Grealish. We need Gundogan to score goals, our forwards sure as fuck can't.

Fair enough, but I would think it would be for one of the forward then, as the club will want their 100 mil shiney new toy on the pitch.

Not read all the stuff on here but will our trophies be shown off before the game?

we need to keep a good record of home wins this season. i would like a unbeaten season at home
but no game is a given anymore and early season and player fitness will be key without much pre-season

biggest thing with any city game home or away is that first goal ? it can sounds silly but we do struggle if we go one down. this is another reason why a striker like kane is worth his money in this squad. because we can hit him over the top or from crosses corners free kick. just having options and a striker with a good eye for the goal will give players like KDB and grealish all they need and they will fine him

Got to win this, Chelsea next and then an International break. If we get to match 4 without a win it will be our worst start since the good old days when we thought 40 points would be a good season.
Arsenal at home before Chelsea. So yes, your scenario would be very worrying

40 points still might be a good season y

Would think it is very important to get rid of this mentality, that we are doomed when we go behind. We have got to react to adversity and fight back hard within games.
Now if we keep finding ourselves behind in games particularly big games we have to ask the question is something wrong with the system. Many on the Forum have noted, and some have tried to explain the big difference in form between the Dec-March period and the April-May period which seems to have carried over into the new season.
We need to quickly find our way back on to the former path or the season may never get properly started. For me the last three big games, which were all lost 1-0, the scenario was the same, slow ponderous build up with no cutting edge accompanied by vulnerability when the opposition came forward. The manager and coaches need to find a solution to this trend immediately.

its the lack of fire power and proper strikers ?
simple rule of football is to put the ball in the net more than the other team.
for the last 4 seasons i bet city chances made to goal ratio is pretty low and last season was the worst
we create 20 plus chances and score 1 or 2 that is the reason we struggle when we go behind

but on the other hand we score first and its a different game ? its knowing how good the defence was last season that we knew we are hard to beat. i think only Chelsea did us last season when we scored first

you can paper over the cracks
but the big games find you out and you need that killer striker you put your house on scoring that goal
sterling torrez marhaz or even KDB foden should not be asked to dig us out of a hole

Anyone congregating around Shambles before the game?
Is Mary Ds still good for atmosphere post Covid? Where will the majority be? Happy to go to Shambles if that's where it's liveliest!

So looking forward to this game. It has been ages since I was in a City crowd and we've won the league title and the League Cup since I last saw my team. New players / heroes to welcome and old ones too.

Hoping it will be a special atmosphere because I am sure so many City fans will feel the same.

2260 tickets still available... seems strange this is struggling to sell out? First full home game in a long time. Doesn't matter who the opposition is, I hope the club lay out flags or something to get the atmosphere buzzing. Hate to say it, but Spurs ground looked great when the players came out.

Dunno mate I'm trying to gauge it at the moment and then make a decision - will probably head into town for about 11ish and head to Shambles either way tho

It would be good for us if Jesus started at centre-forward and scored. Imagine your in his position and you see your club trying to buy a 28 year old Kane just as Jesus might have though he was to inherit Aguero's shirt. Will Pep start jesus or will that put too much pressure on him?

Most City fans this time last season had written Stones off and he was one of our best players. I hope Jesus has a similar season for City.
I think he will be up for this and will score at least one.

Me and my mates were talking about the same thing but comparing Jesus with Kelichi at Leicester where last season things seemed to click for him, fingers crossed it happens for Jesus #jesusjesusgiveusagoal
