Until 3 weeks ago, it was said the most powerful person at Barca was Messi. What I saw in the Euros was an injured Ronaldo trying to inspire his teammates from the sidelines. I don't recall the manager having an issue with it, & iirc Portugal went on to win the tournament.

You might not be able to see Ronaldo pressing from the front in a Guardiola system, but I recall him going crazy when surrounded by three Barcelona players who were stood in a triangle around him passing the ball with him chasing the ball down. He was going sick at his teammates, because they were stood in Real's half just watching him, instead of helping with the offensive press.

Finally, could you really see Ronaldo playing under Pep & telling him 'This is how I play, & I ain't running around, pressing the ball for no one.'? Me neither. If he came to City, I think he'd have a fair idea of how we play, & what was expected of him...

Whatever anyone thinks of his personality is irrelevant, it's what he does on the pitch, and for the whole of his career, he has been exceptional and has produced when required in the biggest of occasions.

This situation reminds me of when we signed Peter Schmeichel, an utter cnut of a man, but my word what a magnificent goalkeeper, even when he was well past his prime.

Remember when he was laughing at Gary Neville in the tunnel before the derby? He did not give a f&&k about the rags that day, he just wanted to win the 3 points for the team he played for, that's what winners do.
 
If we can’t get a deal done for Kane, really hope we reconsider this. If Sterling can get 20 a season through his movement and positioning, Ronaldo would score bucketloads. Imagine KDB and Grealish, the 2 biggest chance creators in the league, behind one of the deadliest finishers ever.

£25mil, the exposure and sponsorships we’d get would pay for that so quickly. Send him to NYCFC when he’s done and we’d have the biggest name to ever play MLS by far. Would make CFG so much more valuable and recognised.

He’s desperate for another CL, Messi going PSG would have pissed him off and Juventus are going backwards.
 
Get him in. He's changed how he plays to be a poacher in the box exactly what would be brilliant in this city side. And his age is not showing either

Hell, I thought he was a free signing, I wouldn't be paying 40m for a player over 30 never mind 35+
 
Makes a lot of sense if we can agree a one-year deal with reasonable wages. Reassess things in a years time.
 
He'd score a shit load of goals for us and tarnish his rags legacy in the process. I don't like the guy, but I can put that aside for those reasons.
