Harry Kane

At this point, I can only hope this is all a smokescreen for some other deal we are brewing up out of sight of the media, because being dragged through the mud and sullying the reputation of “our” player if we do buy him is a despicable way to do business.

I wish Mansour would simply call Levy and tell him, it’s £80M and reasonable add-ons (CL & PL trophies and appearances) OR we will go after every player we hear you are interested in to bid up the price and fuck you over until ADUG runs out of money!!!

Levy needs a fucking slap for the way he is treating people.

Keeping Laporte and Bernardo would be great business for our club but I can't say I'm not disappointed if Kane falls through. I've expected him for months now. He's been openly flirting with City for a move and now because of that c### chairman this could end up in the rubbish bin.

If we were run of the mill like Spurs and KDB at 28 after giving us 8 brilliant years decided he wanted to play for a top club in the champions league again I’d think it was totally understandable.Name another striker as good as Kane who’s stayed this long at a club that win nothing and don’t challenge for the title?
No, we would be gutted and any fan of any club would feel the same losing their best players.

I have supported this club for a long time and seen the big clubs of their day come and take our stars, Caton, Stewart, Owen, Barnes, Wilson ,SWP, Kinkladze Etc

Spurs at this stage are better than pre takeover City however they've never matched City's ambition and drive. This is what happens when your most successful rivals are marginally more successful than you are. Arsenal and Chelsea are nothing compared to the Rags and the Dippers. It's almost like Spurs reason of existence is getting bragging points in their London derbies and nothing more. If a club can't match a player's ambition and ability then could you really fault them for leaving. That's just reality and no matter how much we romanticize loyalty, players will always go where the money is good and where they can win things.

Arrogance again, just have a thought how Spurs fans feel about losing their best player. I hate Spurs with a passion but totally understand the emotion of losing your best players.

We at this moment are the best and wealthiest club in the country, enjoy it, because you never know when it will end, because when it does and it will, when the latest big club comes along and cherry picks our players, you will understand the feeling clubs like Villa and Spurs feel when we cam knocking for their jewels.

Owen and Barnes went to WBA, City were as “big“ as any club at the time, a few seasons earlier finished second by a point to Liverpool It was Allison’s obsession with rebuilding that lead to him selling

As said enjoy it while it last, because it will end at some point and all our big stars will be gone at some point.

How would you feel in 5 years time, Foden is in the press wanting out as we no longer match his ambition?

Remember Sane and the abuse he got because he had the audacity to want to go back home and play for his country's biggest club?

What goes around comes around

To me yes there is an element of greed in this, but it's also about trust and faith. If we promised Kane #10 and then gave it Grealish without discussion, he'll have felt less important, less wanted and maybe unsure if we were committed to him. I guess improving terms to make up for it is as much about showing how important he is and how much we want him as it is about the money.

I maybe missed it, as I skip paged to catch up. Where has theid shirt number discussion on here come from, how did it start.

If Arry is pissed at not getting the No10, maybe he is not for us, Trophies or Numbers, Harry?

Why is it good business keeping 2 players that want to leave and by keeping them we will most like miss out on our much needed top target. It’s bad business if you ask me more so with silva than Laporte as we have loads of players to fill in for silva

You just accused me of not understanding marketing and now you're talking about maximising shirt sales..... Players DO NOT make any significant difference to the number of shirts sold by a team year on year, the name on the back is the only thing that changes by and large, the volume does not. Messi/Ronaldo might drive those sales up by 300-500k in year 1 but that's worth between 10-25m to the club maximum, and thats the 2 biggest stars in history. In year 2 it reverts to type, it's no real money in the football world. The rags are the biggest sellers on the planet and they sell 3.25m per year and earn about 10-18m from that, manufacturers pay sponsorship money to clubs and reap the sales revenue. Shirts sales is a complete myth. Players by and large don't generate ADDITIONAL shirt sales.
So you are Puma, you just paid £650m for the rights to sell CFG kits, you want to recoup your money, MCFC sign two great players, both have been #10 at their previous clubs, who do you give the iconic #10 if you want to maximize shirt sales? The boring one or the beautiful one?
