I reckon we should detach ourselves from personal feelings about him. I understand why he's an annoying twat and you don't want players like this in the team on a visceral level, but I reckon eventually the decision has to be "does this make sense on a footballing level". Could be no - he is 36, wages are high, maybe doesn't fit the mold of the team. But if the opposition is "I'd be annoyed that he'd celebrate goals too cringy" then we should probably find different reasons to oppose him

i said this in another thread; i really hate the guy but more than anything i would rather he didn’t because he’s not played in the PL for 12 years, his wages will be extortionate and i don’t think he’s a good fit with the current setup.

I can only see Ronaldo coming here for one of two reasons

1. He is United through and through and wants to come here to be a cock.
2. He knows it’s his last hurrah and he wants to play at a club that can win everything now, because he doesn’t have 5 years to wait for another up and coming club.

I fully think this is the reason, he sees this as a way to win the CL and have one him vs Messi shootout for it in a full changing of the guard, I can acknowledge the fact he will score a shed load and has that confidence/ cockiness that he wants to win every game

I don’t disagree about the logic of taking him but think ultimately he’d be toxic. Long term I think it would be the wrong move. It would have repercussions.

I wasn’t particularly into getting Harry in the first place but would rather we saw that deal through now for a whole heap of long term reasons, including trust from future targets.

However, whatever the club do in the end, well I’ll assume they’ve thought it through more than most of us in here.
