Hopefully we will give Liam Delap a go now. Loan offers have been rebuffed by City. Start a game the way we are and bring him on for the last 15-25 mins.
I know he'll be injured till mid Sept but even so, the guy is the real deal.

Like you said, there’s pro’s and cons to the approach City take. But good strikers don’t grow on trees and the good ones will always want to have numerous of options available. We won’t even be in the running for Haaland next summer as he will have half a dozen clubs chasing him.
Get the feeling we only want exclusivity, we run away if players flutter their eyelashes at other clubs. Pros and cons to that approach, but most players will always go for the most lucrative offer. But fuck it, if the rags have only just come to the party to stop us signing someone, then that is funny.

Have City actually confirmed they aren't signing him? Where is this confirmation? All I can see is a tweet from a guy who said we'd already signed him yesterday?

We don’t help ourselves here, we need a striker badly. Pep will be pissed, we are going into the season so light in area compared to the rest of the top 4.

We do seem to fail time after time with the marquee signings even seemingly when it’s on a plate for us. Disappointing.

Did Pep give a message to the board, with his wording about how long he’d be at City?

He didn’t look comfortable today, not himself.

Pep, I could be hear for 2years or 5years or I could leave in 2 months.

I believe Pep didn’t want Ronaldo.

It’s funny how straight after the press conference, City came out and distanced themselves, from any deal to bring Ronaldo to City.
Agree with that mate, he is never a pep player and his presser only convinced me more, I think a few suits have had their arses handed to them by pep, you want Ronaldo, you manage the team

Haven't strengthened?
We broke the British transfer record and signed a top class midfielder FFS!
Haven't strengthened enough. The need for a striker was obvious before we let Sergio walk and there's seemingly no plan B for losing Kane. Ronaldo seemed more like a happy accident than anything else. Some of us would also suggest we need long term replacement for Fernandinho. Nothing there either. And left back's been a need (and I like ZInchenko) since Mendy blew out his knee.

It's a tough window with it being so hard to move players with Serie A and La Liga being basically broke, so maybe the latter two moves were too complicated for this season. Striker, though, shouldn't be. No problem with going for Kane, but knowing Levy, there has to be a plan B. Unless there's a Dias-like rabbit to be pulled from the hat, there's little evidence there is a plan B.

To be fair, Sergio will only play 1/3 of a season due to injury.
I agree, he is probably finished but to basicslly cast him aside after everything he has given us on the pitch and off letting him know we where replacing him and then to not do it. Well that isn’t very holistic is it?
