Griezmann at Atletico was pretty much the perfect striker for Pep, he was able to play as a false 9 or on his own up front, he drifted around, he created, he pressed like a dog, he scored incredible goals out of nothing.

But his wages are far too high, Barca need him, and I doubt he wants to leave now Messi is finally out of his way on the pitch.

Yeah they tried to play him as a false 9 with Messi trying to play in the exact same spaces, and Coutinho when he was there.

This is the joke about Barca's spending, they spent €300m on 2 world class players who play in the same position as Messi - the only player who was never going to move.

rags - ronaldo, rashford, greenwood and cavani
chelsea - lukaku, werner
liverpool - salah, firmino, origi
spurs - kane, son
leicester - vardy, daka, iheanacho
city - jesus, ferran torres, delap

it pains me to say that, but at BEST we are 5th in this in terms of quality. and 4 teams have at least 1 world class striker.

I was a bit loose with "striker", mainly was trying to look for "main goalscoring outlet", whatever that might be.

I'd add Sterling to your list of main goal scoring thread. regarless of that your point stands that we look distinctly short.

unless we break the bank for Haaland, I’d be happy with doing that. There’s 2 big problems.

One, I think some in the club will try save face-I thought that’s what entertaining Ronaldo was tbh.

Two, this was striker musical chairs and we’ve been caught without a chair. Next Summer, no elite strikers will be moving. The ineptitude on display in this window could hurt us for 3 or 4 in that dept.

correct and sterling could be a game changer in that list or add absolutely nothing if he's in last season's form unfortunately
