New striker?

exactly. an acquisition like that would give us another option for when games are tight and our wizards are out of gas banging at the wall. there's some potentially nice catch to be had in Ligue 1, like Dolberg.
I’ve long championed Dolberg on here but few agree. If you don’t have over 300 million Instagram followers or cost north of over 150 million, you’re apparently not good enough for us.

Kayky has been told to report to city straight away rather January apparently

Fuck it let's give the young ones a go, if we only win the Caribou and finish 4th but Delap, Torres and Kyky are fully blooded readly to storm the 2022/23 season.

Then so be it
Kayky is going to play Lb since we short there

It’s as if,the player doesn’t have a release clause we don’t seem to be able to negotiate a transfer nowadays,I know that isn’t the case but looking from the outside it just seems that way ..

I suggested him about six months ago and was shouted down. He is different to what we have and seems to have the intelligence to play in a Pep team. We are not getting Kane, Haaland or Mbappe so taking a punt on potential seems like a good option.

It's weird because FFP exists but other clubs, the media, agents and players act like City have no spending constraints. Hence we see Levy demanding insane figures like £160m.

I was going to bump the Dolberg thread in the vain hope that the transfer boffins at the club might pop in and see it; after all, they don’t seem to be doing much else this summer other than looking at closed doors and waiting on phones to ring.

Only seen bits of him but he seems a hard working, technically talented but likes to drop in the pockets like a 10 more than an out and out 9. Is that a fair assessment?

i remember reading he had a serious injury at ajax that hampered his career. Not sure if accurate but he struggles to stay healthy

It depends. He learned to play the line at Ajax so is technically and tactically comfortable moving around the front positions, and at Nice he’s become better at dropping and feeding midfield runners. However, his natural game is sniffing around the box, and one of his best attributes is anticipating where the ball is going to go. He’s also composed in front of goal. Those are special talents and the ones we’re arguably missing, as most of our attackers either don’t gamble on attacking the spaces (i.e. front post) or fluff their lines when they find themselves one on one.

Thanks, most appreciated.

Had Covid last year and an appendectomy, so unfortunate rather than a health risk. His injuries at Ajax were neither recurring nor long-term either, and one of the reasons he chose France was because he knew he wasn’t physically ready for England. He’s filled out in the last couple of years and now looks better equipped to play in England.

I should be his bloody agent. :-)

another question is, why on earth we ever let Dzeko go? should he not have already changed clubs this window, i'd be happy to have him back, now that we hit and missed with all our targets and it's less than a week until the window closes. probably still good for 10+ league goals and many more by other players through making space for them, and surely wouldn't make us break the bank. oh well.
