Arsenal (H) | Post-Match Thread

A nice stroll in the sun. Could have been different had Ederson's latest brain fart in the 1st half bounced in...did the same at Old Trafford not so long ago, time to give Stefan a start.
Very good from lots of players, Grealish uses the ball well, Rodri was strong today, Sterling made some good runs but the usual poor finishing.
Odd first half, two up after a nothing sort of start and had little control in midfield. Then their guy gets sent off and we dominated.
Laporte was good again. How poor are Arsenal though, terrible at the back.

Liked the fact that Rodri was looking to put the defence under pressure. Too often, he would look for the easy pass but today he was looking to push the ball through the lines. Hope it continues.

Come back and say that in October. 2023 when Pep's got his feet up. (On second thoughts, hope you don't.)
To be honest, I've heard a lot of City fans who think that we'll have similar problems post-Pep. Obviously hope we don't, but like Wenger, the old GPC, and even Matt Busby, Pep is going to be a very hard act to follow.

Something I noticed over the start to our season is that the "weakness" we have up front does not necessarily need to be resolved with a signing.

I think the wastefulness comes from players dallying on the ball instead of hitting it when the opportunity presents itself. Sterling and Jesus are by far the worst culprits for this and on early form, Grealish might not be far behind them.

There is no reason why this trait cannot be coached out of them, especially in the opposition penalty area.

Superb performance. The movement and passing up front was brilliant.

Arsenal started fairly well and we looked a bit out of sorts but the first goal changed everything. That has to be the worst Arsenal side I have ever seen since I started watching us as a lad. Woeful.

Torres and Jesus excellent and Grealish a big threat.

Great day out in the sun! Great atmosphere.

Gundo, Bernie and Gabby were terrific today. Looked like the crowd gave a lot of man love to Silkay on corners. Gabby looks a whole different character with a big smile on his face. Laporte reminded me just why he's one of the best defenders around. Jack is starting to grow into the team.

Hope Bernie will stay but it seems unlikely. Blimey I thought we had early leavers but them heading out at halftime!?

Great tonic after a very shit week. Different gravy, to coin a phrase!

What is up with Xhaka by the way? I don't think you could put it down to a passionate tackle. This appear like a common placed thing for him? Disgraceful to be honest. My Mrs turned around and said to me "What on earth is he doing? Why would he do that?" I don't know that answer...
Frustration coupled with an overload of work to cover for useless teammates.

He's a red card waiting to happen in most Arsenal games I've watched over the past few years. A good player ruined by an indecisive midfield set up.
