Arsenal (H) | Post-Match Thread

A nice stroll in the sun. Could have been different had Ederson's latest brain fart in the 1st half bounced in...did the same at Old Trafford not so long ago, time to give Stefan a start.
Very good from lots of players, Grealish uses the ball well, Rodri was strong today, Sterling made some good runs but the usual poor finishing.
Odd first half, two up after a nothing sort of start and had little control in midfield. Then their guy gets sent off and we dominated.
Laporte was good again. How poor are Arsenal though, terrible at the back.
Not seen the game But am certain Steffen is no way near Edi. If you can't see the passes Ederson makes you blind mate

I thought Grealish was a bit of a spectator at times today out on the left. He wasnt poor, but it was almost like the rest if the side were giving him a bit of a lesson.

"Welcome to City, Jack, this is how we destroy one of the "big 6""
Agree with this.

Decent pre-season work-out as Arsenal weren't play for real.

We weren't at our best at the start but two early goals and Granit Hacker's contribution allowed us to dominate completely.

We do need to have KDB and Phil back but that was a well balanced starting XI; hope it wasn't Bernie's farewell.

There's a zip and a fluidity to our play that is such a joy to watch. We are so good and, as the manager said, we can be even better.

How times change. Seems like yesterday I was watching Arsenal go 4 up in 30 mins at Maine Road (2003?). Henry etc racing past Dunney . Arsenal fans rightly gloating. Probably thinking this is how it will always be.

I know some think it’s a passé now to think where we’ve come from. But days like these should be treasured
It was 20 mins, and Henry was on the bench. Our self deprecating humour was in full flow when he came on. 'Who the fucking hell are you!' Was the chant. Even had Arsenal fans ringing up GMR after the game praising us for it

My daughters first game today, thought I'd get her in while she is still free!

She loved it, I missed most of the game through fighting back tears, soppy old bastard that I am lol
Spoiled now, she is. Pity she missed the defeat by Bury at Maine Road, that would have set her on the way to happiness. Or something.
Bless her anyway.

both this and Norwich game we faced some of the worst defensive performances in PL. I dont know how often Arteta opts for a back 5, but this was criminal for him even before red card.

I think they finished the game with one shot, I and the only shot I recall was the one where Ederson kicked the ball at Arsenal player 2 metres from goal and it ended basically in an off target shot for the Arse player not on purpose of course. :)

September will much more of a real test for our attacking power with games like Leicester away, Chelsea away, PSG away, Leipzig home etc.

fucking hate international breaks and while earlier it was usually 2 games for national teams, now its 3 games and i have a feeling while Grealish was underused on the Euros now he will be overused and play long minutes for England 3x in a row, Sterling too etc.
wouldnt mind Walker sit out and have TAA from scousers to risk injury and get more tired.

Thats great. Looking forward to taking my nephew. He is about 7 I think. Just about the right age. He'd be amazed at the crowd and noise.
