Also made some great off the ball runs which weren’t spotted by Gundo and Cancelo. But its very early days and once they get used to playing with him, and he with them, we will reap the rewards.

When he learns the "false decoy" he will be even better.
 
Love Grealish at LW.

When he gets the ball he's always looking to drive into the box - he rarely gives the ball away, he draws multiple defenders to him - he unbalances the opposition defense. And if left one-on-one he'll often beat his marker to deliver a telling cross or shot on goal.
 
For £100m I think you want around 25 goal contributions in the league each season. He's on track to get those, but... I still really don't get it. Feels like a complete departure from everything the club has done over the last thirteen years to spend that much on a player who's not a clear upgrade on the existing options.
 
First of all -> he is not a winger, it's like Pep was playing Bernardo as a RW and finally (after 19 / 20 season`s failure) - it was clear for everyone that it's not gonna work and he belongs to the midfield. Then he had to play Bernardo as a RCM again (after KDB`s injury) and we all experienced old, prime Bernardo - which led to the 4-month-winning-streak..

So - Jack`s situation is same. Of course he is a better winger than Bernardo and contributes - but that's not even close to the level Foden produces - while playing as a winger.. Or Jesus, Sterling or Mahrez are providing from the RW..

For me our best LWs are 1) Foden 2) Jesus 3) Grealish - but that doesn't mean he should play LW..

Grealish is a LCM or pure Number 10 in 4-2-3-1 formation or even False9 - playing like Fabregas in 11/12 Barcelona..

That's why we can't see his full potential yet, but nothing to worry about - he is definitely hell of a player and has the skills to shine for the next 10 years..

Still great purchase for me and considering how prices are rising - even a BARGAIN..

That never happened though. Here are the Premier League results for that 14-game winning run in 18/19:

City 3-1 Arsenal: Bernardo played right wing (Midfield of Gündogan, De Bruyne, David Silva)
Everton 0-2 City: Bernardo played right wing (Midfield of Fernandinho, Gündogan, David Silva)
City 6-0 Chelsea: Bernardo played right wing (Midfield of Fernandinho, Gündogan, De Bruyne)

EDIT - I don't know if you were referring to the winning streak in 18/19 or 20/21, so apologies if you're talking about last season. But I think the point still stands that Bernardo has excelled on the right of the front three for us just as often as he has in central midfield

I'm not saying it was right to do so, but I suspect with Grealish the club made a decision that went beyond the pitch.

Agreed. I really like him as a player. I think the step up from Villa is bigger than some see. The way City trains and the media side of things. Not disrespect meant to Villa, but that’s the truth. The level is considerably higher, his teammates considerably better and he can’t just turn up and be that big fish, he has to work harder than ever. Luckily, I think Jack saw that and it’s exactly what he wanted. Given his uniqueness and ability, plus the potential to step up again and be an absolute star - alongside - his HUGE marketability = 100m player all day long.
Wait until the World Cup, his face will be everywhere.
 
It does feel like he's being groomed to play the Sterling left wing role somewhat. His goal against Norwich and assist against Arsenal were both the kind of goal contributions you'd have wanted from Sterling when he's been on the left.

The more Jack plays the better he will get. He is an immensely talented player and is already linking very well with Ilkay. I think that we have some incredible football to look forward to when he starts playing with Phil and KDB.

To such a degree that the current panic for a number 9 will probably look a huge fuss about not very much.
