With 21 empty they can ask the premier league if cavani can change numbers to that, if they say no Ronaldo can still be registered as number 7 in all cup competitions as they are seperate to the prem squad rules

Tbh, I think the PL will let it happen exactly as you first mentioned, with the PL granting an exemption.

After all, it’s all about marketing the PL to the world and bringing the Ronaldo brand (CR7) to the British game, isn’t it?!

So, Cavani to 21, Ronaldo to 7, and £24M of James money placed into Ronaldo’s offshore account for his wages this season!

United has the look of a midtable side - but with such an excess of talent I guess they'll wind up in the top 4 again.
 
Frightening. I just used Google on my phone to see if clubs were allowed to change numbers. I didn't put any player or team in. The first answer directly related to PR7. Now you clever ones will say that is because everyone is asking the same question, (algorithms?)
Anyway the answer was no.......but the rags may ask for special dispensation for this to be allowed.

I thought he was turning into a decent player. Massive downgrade from James to Sancho based on that Wolves game. Fred and Sancho turned in truly shocking performances.
