Some people seem angry that we didn’t move for him, but it’s pretty plausible that he might just have preferred PSG. Doubt it’s as straightforward as us simply turning down the chance to sign him.

Playing alongside Messi, Neymar, Mbappe, Ramos and the rest - not to mention living in Paris - is going to be a huge draw for any young player.

It’s not like we can just swan in and expect him to automatically prefer us because we’re City, and we’ve got Pep as manager.

I can well imagine a young player given the choice would have found their offer way more attractive than ours.

Club have constantly denied he’s a target, PSG also sent sporting sarabia on loan the other way to seal it.

I think Zinchenko and Cancelo are also young enough to play LB there for many more years.

Ake can also play there easily if interpreted in a more defensive manner.

So it's possible that even though we are interested, we are already stacked in this position in terms of options so the club wanted to save money.

There will be other high potential left backs available in the next few years (3+ years) when we will REALLY need to start considering buying a LB. It's just not an issue right now or soon.

It’s a recurring theme this, the expectance that a player will choose us above all else. Simply isn’t the case.

You can't really blame PSG for us coming out of this transfer window looking like Trotters Independent Traders.
Yes, looking at our squad after the window has closed, how the fuck are we going to cope, we should of been more like arsenal, now thats a club on the up ,who isn't faltering
