Most of them are Russian helicopters that were cheaper to buy, and easier to learn to fly. I doubt we will see the Taliban establish a viable air force, unless they bring in skilled pilots, trainers, engineers and other support team (using contractors) it doesn't look possible.
I suspect what might happen to them is that they will be sold onto neighbouring countries or offloaded to shady arms dealers who will either sell them as full units or strip them for parts.
Agreed. Without trained support staff, access to spares, then most major or complex hardware quickly becomes useless. You don't even have to spike them.
Stripped down and sold off for hard currency is the likeliest outcome.
