I was going to have a mini rant about that twat Rogan taking horse worming pills and found you have saved me the bother. Appreciated.

I thought it was big of him to refer to himself as a “fucking moron” after telling people healthy folks didn’t need the vaccine. And now he’s taking animal anti-parasitics. And monoclonal antibodies which cost more per dose than my house payment. Wow, what a man of the people.

The West is on fire, the South and the East are under water due to Climate Change, TX has enacted a Handmaid law that effectively overturns Roe vs Wade and puts a $10,000 bounty on the head of women seeking an abortion while the Republican SCOTUS has looked the other way, the House Minority Leader is threatening any company that aids the investigation into the Jan 6th Insurrection with Congressional retribution…BUT hey, let’s talk about the end of a 20 year old war that Republicans started, then wanted no part of, but have found that there is nothing they cannot pick apart with the withdrawal and demand Biden’s impeachment!

At least Turtle McConnell came out to downplay impeachment!

What a bunch of hypocritical, know nothing, backwards ass, numpties. Politics in America is SO broken, I’m not sure how and where the next fissure is going to cause the eruption that might succeed in taking it down.

The levels of fascism rising in America are scary, and I’m not generally an alarmist.

Oh I know and I totally agree with you on all points — that was what I’ve been saying. He is anal about precedent — his focus is on jurisprudence first, holds precedent sacred, is no strict constructionist but is the opposite of an activist, whether liberal or conservative. I think folks were worried about him politically given who appointed him but I’ve always seen him as the opposite of a politician. I don’t think he can be counted on for a “party line” vote, same as John Stephens used to be.

What is being lost in all of this is that NONE OF IT will apply to ANY of the lawmakers who voted for it and had the big grind during the photo op! NONE!

Why?

Because they’re all of sufficient means to take a few days off work, get in the car or on a plane, and go get an abortion anywhere else they choose!

This is POOR PERSON LAW! It only applies to those without the means to get around it! It is, for the most part, a RACIST law!

Anyone who thinks that a wealthy person in TX isn’t getting the abortion they feel they need is deluded.

Rich guys daughter, mistress or even wife…no problem!

Industry grinds to a halt. And, how long between chemical plants explosions and fires? 6 mos? 12?

Much of the US is barely holding on, but it likes to spackle over the cracks with the constant refrain of “We are the greatest country on earth!”

Texas just set up a anonymous phoneline where you can report people you think might have had an abortion to the authorities and get $10k if they go round, you are right and that person gets arrested.

This is the kind of thing you'd see in the most paranoid parts of the USSR, North Korea or China. Reporting deviant neighbours.

I genuinely think I read an article last week about the Taliban knocking on doors based on phone calls.

What the fuck is going on in that country. Even the Irish have legalised abortions.
