Their new thing seems to be the bemusement of him insisting on a release clause which is brilliant.

If he didn’t have one then he’d still be there wasting his best years away despite not actually wanting to be there. Surely they understand why it was included? Evidently not but still, amazing.

It seems to have passed them by that the board wanted to sell him at that price anyway.

Three players bought with the fee plus change. And moved away from being over reliant on one star.

They have also hoovered up plenty of star players from championship clubs over the last few years to varying degrees of success. Are fans of all those clubs bitter?

It’s quite ironic that some of the same fans wanting JG to stay put abused Micah Richards for staying put on his contract when he had long term injury problems. Works both ways.

One thing that has surprised me with about Grealish is his physical presence and strength. Never knew he was so strong. Cracking player.

It's even more ridicluous when you watch the part of the interview that caused the outrage.... He was asked if he thought the clause would ever be met and said "Yeah, maybe - that's why we put it in" and proceeded to explain how he thought that if he played as well enough, then maybe a good opportunity would present itself.

I mean.... OBVIOUSLY?!?! That's the whole point of a release clause - why is that some sort of shocking, earth shattering statement to them?? It's as if every bit of information needs to be sugarcoated and spoon-fed to them like children...

He's playing with a ton of confidence right now.
Every time I look he has the ball.. looking like an absolute Worldy. Like someone that just needs to be on the ball all the time. He’s quality.. him Phil and Kev on the pitch at once will murder teams.

One of those players who always looks like something will happen every time they're on the ball. He will hit a boatload of assists, season in and season out.

Villa talk is bitter. All about how he was t involved with England when he was with them, but us now he plays for us.

This is a thing. fucking hell. apparently going to be worn at their game vs us

Not wishing to piss on their outrage but wasn't it well documented Grealish turned down a more lucrative offer than he's getting here from Villa to stay? Not sure how you can call him greedy when he's moved for less money.

How many trophies do we have to win before the morons realise players come here to win things?

Its funny how the media connected to villa and villa fans are saying no point Grealish coming as we would of won trophies without him. Yet most the country have been saying Chelsea are favorites and jizzing over the rags squad.

These clowns will say anything to discredit City. Im sure if we win the league the same old shite about it being unfair will come out, and all the Chelsea and United love in will be forgotten.

Grealish has disappointed me with his performances. Nowhere near as effective as Foden, Bernardo, Mahrez and Sterling.

He may stand out for England but for me he doesn't get anywhere near my City first XI

I don't think anyone in their right mind could possibly be disappointed in Grealish: he has played three games and scored and assisted. For a player new to a team, and in a team lacking sharpness and fitness, he has done very well indeed. He may not get in your best eleven, even in time, but to be disappointed is ridiculous, in my opinion.

For £100m I expect a player in the Aguero, Foden category. I am not seeing why we bought him when we have players like Bernardo, Mahrez, Foden, Sterling in our squad. He adds depth but that's about it. I have changed my mind about his signing. He's a very good player but he's not better than what we have and he doesn't get in my first XI. He'd be my 3rd choice left sided player behind both Foden and Sterling.

I am disappointed in the sense that we spent £100m and we don't have what regard as a top defensive midfielder or a centre forward and yet we have two outstanding players we could play on our left hand side.

It's an expensive unbalancing of our squad when we needed a defensive midfielder and centre-forward. I am not convinced actually that we need a centre-forward because i think Foden is a super star but I certainly think we are weak in defensive midfield. That to me is the key weakness in our squad and we now have a surplus in creative players. I might change my mind when it comes to FA Cup semi-finals when the squad is extremely stretched but at the moment I can see us losing Sterling or a player because they are not going to get games. I think grealish is a very good player but not a £100m player and not a player we needed.

It's an expensive unbalance to our squad. We should have not bought Grealish, and we should have gone all in on Kane or Haaland whilst the rest of football was crippled by Covid-19.
I disagree. In my opinion, we do have a top-class defensive midfielder and we don't play with an out and out forward anyway. This player is involved in goal after goal but regardless, the time to judge is not now, not by any means.
