Good watch brands

I'm not really materialistic and I can't justify the price of a new one but that is a really nice time piece there mate. My favourite watch in this thread. Just wondering how much that particular watch would cost second hand?

I also really like the Breitling that @SWP's back is getting.
2k up to 3k for a minter.
Prices vary a lot. These WERE faked, so be careful if buying private. I'd advise against that if you don't know what you're looking at, find one in a dealer. Box + papers is nice to have, but lack of wouldn't put me off the right piece.
Lovely watch though, you're right.

As my £60 Thai Seamaster 'special' was faked, but i knew that when buying it. But to buy a second hand watch between 2-3k and then find out it's a fake would have me wanting to nip to the nearest fuel station for a gallon of petrol to torch the fuckin' shop!

I will keep my eyes open because if a private seller has one in good nick with verified proof of purchase from an established jewelers I'd be interested at the right price.

Your fake will be easy to spot mate, cos it's a cheap one. But there are some high end fakes out there, costing hundreds, or even in some cases, thousands.
Some watches were faked to this standard, and this is one of them.
One easy tell on this particular watch is the small hands on the subdials. They should reach right to the edge of the circle. If they don't, it's probably fake.
Also don't be fooled just because the chrono works and has a sweeping action. The valjoux movement in this watch is easily copied, and frequently is.
Just be careful mate is all.

This sort of shit. It's subtle unless you're aware. Not just limited to this either, and some may be even correct here, but still fake. It's a minefield tbh.
Research the fuck out of it before you part with any hard earned, i'd hate you to buy a wrong 'un.Screenshot_2021-08-17-12-23-09.png

Ooh, a ceramic bezel.

Watch size proportions are absolutely spot on, enjoy.

I am looking to buy a nice watch for around €3k, looking at a number of makes, Tag Heuer is out of the question due to their sponsorships. I have seen some Frederique Constant watches on www.chrono24.com which look like a nice piece of kit. Anyone got one of their watches? If so, any good?

Don't know much about Frederique Constant, but for that sort of money Tudor are a great brand, part of the Rolex group.

Black Bay or Pelagos are where I'd be putting my money, depending on what style you like.

Thanks for this, I will have a look at these.

Edit had a look at their website, Dozy Dave is all over it so it is a no from me for Tudor unfortunately

100% agree with this.
Black bay GMT, £3200, 5yr warranty, 10yr service interval.
All the watch you’d ever need.
