She did.. if still doesn’t detract from the fact that not ten minutes earlier she was whinging and accusing Emma of feigning injury because she was about to have her serve broken. It was obvious to everybody (even the referee took way too long to announce the timeout) that the game had to be stopped for the medic to come on..

Fernandez has said in the post-match interviews that she didn't know the rule on a bleeding cut bringing an immediate halt.
Usually medical timeouts have to wait until there is a changeover.

I can't remember seeing a player getting a cut before.
 
Piers Morgan tweeting that she went from a Wimbledon 'choker' to US open champion is 1st class twattery.
 
So does Great britain have it's first global superstar in the making..

That’s my point - the top ranked players should be a breed apart but they aren’t hence the fact that there have been so many different slam winners over the last few years. It’s indicative of a lack of quality

Well done to her, but its such a minor / privalaged sport that I cant do it

She's mint. Watched this morning without knowing the score. I was cheering like fuck and Fernandez's sister was starting to annoy me! Her Mum's fit though.
