Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

I’m not happy if Pep makes comments about fans not attending or the atmosphere. Unless he adds that of course he understands loads can’t go due to the financial offer it brings with it. And choose to wat h it on telly or on their phone.

But the change of times is probably on of the reasons the Super League is still a talking point among clubs (believe me it is). If we don’t depend on local fans we can bring the game to where the money comes from.

To improve the atmosphere we simply need a huge standing area. Always said so and stick to that. Look at away games. Always good atmosphere with almost everybody standing.

Cheap tickets . The club seem obsessed with corporate, but corporate was largely empty last night.
 
Well done Pep. Rags texting me your comments this morning. Forgetting the expense it’s the bloody hassle. Does no one give a shit that it is almost impossible to get away from the place quickly? Yesterday I was busy at work but needed to sort 2 tickets out for people. Absolute logistical nightmare. A women at work told me her husband has wanted to go to the first 2 games but has not understood the website issues. I am still awaiting a response to the debacle I experienced at the Norwich game. I got a holding email saying we would respond after Arsenal and still nothing. It amazes me that we got around 40,000 last night, if that had been at Maine Road it would have been considered a huge crowd but the Etihad is a big place to fill. Really pissed off with Pep and he clearly lives in a bubble but I hope he gets the message that this is about the tenth time he has had a pop. He has been a sulky bastad at times and also cocked up several champions league campaigns with his arrogance. I am afraid I am starting to think I am ready for a change. Rather someone who maybe is not as good but seems proud to be our manager. He pissed me off hugely last night.

Well there were a group near me trying all game to get a foul song going about Ronaldo being a sex offender. Apart from the obvious irony given the Mendy situation, from the crowd that gave the world the "Feed the Goat" and Yaya songs, it didn't encourage the rest of us to join in.

If our singing sections were an away end in an oppositions’ stadium, the home fans would probably think they’re a decent set of away fans. But that doesn’t mean they’re a good singing section for a home stadium.

But the rest of the ground don’t help neither (although I always try!)

I agree with what your saying, but just specifically about 119 and that corner of the south stand. It was much better then previous times I’ve been in there. for champions league games I’ve been sat down in there and there’s been no singing at all.
We need the entire south stand to sing if we want more noise
 
Loving the ‘Pep lives in a bubble’ line. The bubble must be one of obsession and 100% commitment to win as much and make our team the absolute best.

If he lives in a bubble, no other manager has ever been there or, probably, never will.

So what if he’s frustrated with our support? Many of us fans are frustrated with our support. It really isn’t about the number of empty seats, it’s about the people who are actually there.

He puts more effort in on the touch line during a game than lots of fans do ‘supporting’ our team. I’m pretty sure if he was in the stands with the fans he would actually contribute to the atmosphere as well.
 
Not the first time he's said this (think it was an fa cup match) and he went back on what he said as he got backlash from the fans so god knows why he thought it would be a good idea to do it again

Maybe it’s just me but I find the “it should’ve been 10” song to be the biggest load of dirge. Absolutely hate it.

That's the point though, it's a balance of time for me more than money at the moment, I often end up working on a Saturday Morning, if I could get to the ground and back away easy enough it wouldn't feel like such a pain in the arse but it really is, it's the same for night games, trying to battle through the traffic to get a parking spot can be a nightmare, maybe when the kids are a bit older but at the moment it's just very difficult.
 
Pep's entitled to his opinion , his previous clubs were established european giants , i think he looks down on our support as inadequate after all his hard work and commitment , but we are in the same city as a football juggernaut , where as he had Espanyol to compete with at Barca,
He is naive in some of his statements and when the shit hits the fan in the future Pep will move on to pastures new , where as our support will be here long after he has departed.
Brilliant coach but he needs a lesson in diplomacy as far as our support is concerned

Didn’t think it was a bad crowd last night after initial worries.

didn’t think the atmosphere was bad either

was in tier 3 of Colin bell so didn’t see what the 1st tiers looked like, obviously the attendance didn’t help with RB bringing so few (don’t blame them in any way)

Have I really just read some posts which call Pep ‘arrogant and aloof’ at the same time praising Mancini as some kind of man of the people ?? That’s hilarious.

If you want to learn about arrogance and being aloof I suggest you speak to any players or staff that had to deal with Mancini. But he wore a city scarf so he was ‘one of us’.
