Etihad Atmosphere - 2021/22

Our reaction,as a fan base,is justifiable though.Pep,while having good intention, was wrong to even mention it given its been a source of entertainment and pisstaking for our rivals since we moved to this stadium.

Surely he isn't that ignorant,or lacking awareness, where this very touchy issue is concerned.Any previous good work to dispel such a myth has been destroyed with a very naive 20 second comment.

The brainfarts continue.
He might think this shouldn’t be a touchy issue. If he does he would be correct imho.

My early leavers algorithm predicts I will be leaving in the 86th minute against Soton. I intend to delay this by one minute which I shall spend loudly booing Pep

The fans have every right to be unhappy.

His comments were unnecessary and in my opinion completely unjustified.

I'm not defending him, I wasn't happy about them as he didn't need to say it.

I am mearly saying, English isn't Peps first language, in the past he has said something, meaning something else and the media have run with it

Probably, but this is the real world and that would further support his lack of awareness.

I agree with the 'owning it' response - nothing frustrates more where the aggressor/instigator is concerned.

As said, the guy is not stupid and if there is any truth about language issues, he needs to have someone by his side calling the shots and protecting him (Simon Heggie)

You answered your own point there. The most important line in your post is that when you present them with the facts they don’t listen.

Why do you think that is? It’s because they don’t care about the truth. Do we care when we say United have no fans in Manchester and they dispute it?

It doesn’t matter.
Of course it matters.

Roll over like a fanny and you might as well be dead.

Fight back. It's a game. Lies need to be countered with facts.

Never take a step back and always defend City.

Why? What will happen if you ignore the fools? Do we stop winning trophies?

Not one opposition fan is going to say “Oh I didn’t realise I’ve changed my mind now”

The objective isn’t to be right it’s to wind you up.

If we asked the directors of Chelsea, United and Liverpool whether it was better from their perspective to have Pep and City fans fighting each other or not fighting each other, I wonder what they’d say?
Somehow I don’t think there will be any fighting. More than that, it’s about what’s best for City more than any one individual.

I hope everyone has a great day out on Saturday, song or silence, and we get the 3 points.

It may sound like a small issue but I think the version of Bluemoon that is currently played doesn't lend itself to a good start. Why does it have to drop into something quick that no one sings along to? Look at all the big anthems around the world. Slow and rousing. Go back to the old version that is slow and singable

Just had a quick look at all the attendances for game week 1 in the champions league ...
1) Liverpool..57,445
2) City...45,000
3) Athletico Madrid ...40.098
4) Barcelona...39,783
5) Chelsea...39,252
So for all the talk about empty seats we actually had the second highest attendance in all Europe , only topped by Liverpool who were playing AC Milan, a far bigger draw than RB Leipzig..
(Admitedly the BBC reported 38,000 , but others reported 45,000 and it looked more like 45,000 to me , even so the 38,000 would have still had us 5th , with virtually no away fans)
Unless Anfield has been extended in the last few weeks it’s capacity is 53000, they had 51000 for the AC Milan game.

Can't help feeling you're not really getting the hang of the tribal nature of being a football fan.

I'm not turning the other cheek I'm giving it back in spades.

Agree with your last line though; Pep wasn't right and he did wind me up.
