Was just going to say that. Wasn't one for pressing or dropping deep but give him a sniff in or around the area and he'd be on it.Fantastic goalscorer and a genuine nice man.
The Aguero of his day - RIP Jimmy.
He was injured in the early games otherwise he was a certain starter !That's sad news. Amazing when you look at his form back then that he didn't get in the '66 team. Has to be said, though, it didn't work out too bad. Saint and Greavesie was a "must watch" back in the day. And although it does look a bit dated when you see clips of it now, it was streets ahead of anything around now. I mean to day; Soccer AM? Really?
You're not wrong thereRest in peace Jimmy. Great player, great bloke. Had his flaws but don't we all?
He enjoyed his lime cordials, that's for sure!Rest in peace Jimmy. Great player, great bloke. Had his flaws but don't we all?
He could well of done , remember Big Joe kicking it out and Ronnie Boyce I think volleying it straight back into the net . My dad just kept telling me to watch Jimmy Greaves because he was a genius , the things you remember even at seven years of age !!Didn't he get a hat-trick in that game?
