For me a wounded City is always the best City.

People are talking up Chelsea as if they are invincible. I don’t believe that is the case, and I am convinced a hungry and motivated City are going to show up on the weekend with a point to prove.

My thinking before the CL final was 'we've won 2, law of averages suggest we won't beat City for a 3rd time'. I feel exactly like that again. It seems almost unthinkable to beat Pep's City 4 times in a row, so my head says this will be 1-1 draw and 1-0 City win.

Would be a huge statement if we can beat these bastards. Have to get it done sometime after three terrible performances against them.

I mean I think we're better than Chelsea. It's just that they're exactly the kind of team that usually do a number on us and I don't think Pep will be able to prevent that. They'll defend and counter as per United usually do vs us.

I'd like to see De Bruyne, Foden, Mahrez, Grealish and Gundogan cracking off long shots. Even if we had a striker their defence would be too good to have much chance of scoring normally. If Mendy isn't back we have a good chance because Kepa is so far out of his depth he can't even see the pool floor anymore.

Think we'll lose this because they're just that good this season, but would obviously love to be surprised.

Don’t you be coming on here with any of that reverse psychology malarkey! ;-)
You’re at home, undefeated this season-barely conceded, and already have a trophy in the cabinet. Irrespective of last season’s results you’re clear favourites.

Any Park and Rides for Chelsea? Not been there by car before and parking looks difficult to say the least, looks like a driveway rental might be the only realistic option?

Another early kickoff against a big 6 team? Is that to suit the global tv audience or are they just trying to piss City fans off?

Who are the big 6? City United Liverpool Chelsea arsenal spurs? Not sure we've ever played United or Liverpool at that time. Spurs this season was 4.30, arsenal 3pm.

Quite nice in a way to be going into the next three games as relative underdogs for once. It’s quite possible that we could lose all three, so anything we get will be a bonus. Hoping that Rodri, Laporte and Gundogan will be available for this. If so, I’d go for:

Ederson
Walker
Dias
Laporte
Cancelo
Rodri
Gundogan
Bernardo
Grealish
De Bruyne
Foden

If we get anything from this game, I predict we'll win the league. A bit too early in the season for the next 3 games with injuries and players coming back. And if we lose, we just need to stay within 5 or 6 points by the turn of the year to mount a real assault on the title (again).

I don't think anyone is ever 'clear' favourites against this City, to be fair :)

I think City are the better team with the better manager, but granted I admit we're on a good run and we have huge momentum behind us. I just can't shake the feeling that we'll stumble eventually and in City we're facing an opponent that a) are the reigning champions and b) have a score to settle.

Don't get me wrong. I'm confident in my team and I believe we've finally improved enough to be considered City's equals.

It seemed unthinkable to us too, until Pep decided charity begins at home.

Anything can happen, but my gut feeling is that chelsea are just too strong for us at the moment and will win this. We are currently plagued by injuries, and de bruyne only just easing his way back into the side. Defence looks shaky and i fear we could concede a few.

Given the week we’re facing and the fact that we take some time to get going, I imagine we’d be satisfied with a draw.

A Chelsea victory and it could become a case of who can stop you: three London derbies safely navigated (two away) and a point at Anfield with ten men. You’ve had a tough start but after us face 6 eminently winnable games before you host that lot at the end of November.

to be fair, it was actually the games against the lesser sides that they struggled with last season. Guess thats why they bought lukaku
