After a favourable fixture list to begin the season, their run of upcoming games is pretty rough:

Villa, Villareal, Everton, Leicester, Atalanta, Liverpool, Spurs, Atalanta, City, Watford, Villareal, Chelsea, Arsenal

A lot of banana peel fixtures there amongst games against the top teams.
Not ma ny top teams in there , foxes and spursy are flaky, chavs and dippers yes ,although the dippers will roll over as per the rest are not difficult

What's Frodo said?
"Every game is important but you can see by the team selection that we've always used this competition when I've been here at the club to give minutes for ones who need it, it's a long, long season.

"I've never actually won this tournament, that hunt will keep going, it's a trophy I'd like to have. But we've made decisions to get the squad up to speed."

I really enjoy the way the rags are confident about their season !!
It will only hurt more when their hopes and dreams get crushed by reality. Their midfield is absolute trash , their defence is a joke and they been winning games with the help of individual inspiration ( greenwood , ronaldo, pogba, fernandez ) . They are not a team. Just hope they dont sack Ole and get a proper manager to turn things around anytime soon.

Funny that after going out of tin pot cup they have no interest in they are all acting like a bunch of self entitled slapped arses this morning.

There has been a huge infestation of raggus twattus in Ashton over the last few days but I'm happy to say it seems like the happy hammers bubble blowing team seem to have eradicated it.
However it could be a short lived reprieve if the rags win on Saturday..but it's only expected to last until next defeat.
They'll dispose of Villa easy enough.

Don't recall the buck toothed diver getting booked for ungentlemanly conduct either..

That passage of play sums the rags up completely..

The Portuguese **** knows the rules regarding a drop ball but still took it upon himself to chance his arm and basically cheat to get on level terms because they weren't good enough in open play despite having in excess of £350 million pounds worth of players on the pitch.

Do you think if fatso Moss had given the goal, the rags team would have stepped aside and let West Ham walk a goal in to regain their lead..

Not a fkin chance..!

Horrible club with the morals to match..

I'm still amazed fatty Moss didn't 'do a Brighton' as iffy rag goals are now known in my circle and allow that to count.
Especially as no one actually knows what that rule is. Does the team getting the drop ball have to touch the ball first? If so, West Ham could have just left the ball and run the clock out.

If they don’t, how long does a team have to wait before challenging for the ball?

As you say, he could have given the goal and no one would have known better at the time.

EDIT

Dropped ball

PROCEDURE

  • The ball is dropped for the defending team goalkeeper in their penalty area if, when play was stopped:
    • the ball was in the penalty area or
    • the last touch of the ball was in the penalty area
  • In all other cases, the referee drops the ball for one player of the team that last touched the ball at the position where it last touched a player, an outside agent or, as outlined in Law 9.1, a match official
  • All other players (of both teams) must remain at least 4 m (4.5 yds) from the ball until it is in play
The ball is in play when it touches the ground.

Seems like Moss could have given the goal.

Jesus how gutted will he be. Probably put him off his meal for 3 takeaway after the match.

2 of the rags were not 4m away though when it was dropped.

I was in the West Ham end last night (nice few renditions of 'your city is blue' going) and can confirm that yes, Old Trafford is still a swamp.

Can you confirm the empty seats situation, especially the 3rd tiers

Decent enough attendance, still a fair few empty seats dotted about but I'm not really obsessed with attendances, unlike some rival fans. I will say that their atmosphere was fucking dreadful.
