its funny because the feedback I got when I was working from home was that productivity was not negatively impacted. This dinosaur values presentism over productivity because he likes to see people at work. You could argue that if his business employs people who cannot be trusted to do the work then its his recruitment team that are the issue.

Johnson spouting off about countries having to move away from fossil fuels. A local council in East Yorkshire is just about to approve drilling for fossil fuels - the council is controlled by? There are no prizes for guessing.

Absolute c*nt.

I’ve worked my arse off from indoors and been far more productive whilst saving 3+hours travel time a day

it’s people like him that are making me and others go back to the office when there is no need.

I think he has deep down insecurities around the issue that if people aren't in front of each level of management but are working at home largely autonomous so that you only need a bit of guidance and a nudge means that all management is called into question - are they all needed if folks can just get on with their day?

We’ve all been summoned back to the office after working perfectly fine from home for 16 months - they say they will review it end of year but I don’t believe them.
Gutted as it’s actually easier for my job , I’m more productive.
now got to pay extortionate train fares, hardly see my kid and wife and sit in a office all day when I could be happier at home.

see about changing employer? you doubtless have skills valuable to another one in a job seekers market - if they don't want to play ball with you take your ball home. I sacked work off in May and 3 or 4 times a week I am getting e-mails asking form my CV or to attend a zoom meeting to discuss working with them. I shut down my LinkedIn account because I got sick of the approaches.

The need is your need to keep business going by buying products at inflated prices that attract tax. Costa, Subway, pint of beer or glass of wine at the local around the corner, or just for the transport costs, it all adds up.
