Next Manager after Pep

I think two successive 5th placed finishes with Leicester when you compare their budget to teams around them is impressive on paper. The end of season collapses however are a consistent theme and produce doubts. They've had a poor start to this season too, so the next couple of years are big for rodgers if he wants the City job. He can't fall away with Leicester.

Can the end of season collapses be attributed to a lack of squad depth compared with the other CL contenders ? Injuries and fatigue, mental as well as physical take their toll. If points to pounds spent ratio was the criterion to judge a manager’s worth he’d certainly fare well in comparison with the managers of the “big 6”

It’s a moot point for me really as I intensely dislike the little weasel and would hate to see him at City

That’s a fair point about squad depth and likely part of it. I get the thinking behind Rodgers but as others have said there’s a lot of pellegrini about it

I think the engrained style of play through the club means whoever comes in will fit that mould, bit like when Enrique replaced Pep at Barca. The team just kept going.
I therefore think it will likely be someone from within the club, more so if academy boys have become first team starters. Who though, I’ve no idea, but a vinny fern combo wouldn’t surprise me.

They have a next manager thread on the caf and a few have put mancini down.
I don't think he would go there

Can't see him going to the rags but Newcastle is a different matter, he would be the perfect appointment for them.

Yes. I think Pep does win the league with the liverpool squad. Leicester, no.

Pep is the gold standard for developing young players despite what some believe. Just because he hasn't sold Gundogan so McAtee gets to start doesn't mean he doesn't know what hes doing.

I think most of the credit for the players that Leicester have bought should go to their scouting and footballing director.

Who did then?

Hes finished 9th, 5th and 5th. How on earth could he possibly come in and takeover as Pep. We tear the rags apart for bringing in Moyes, this would be on the same level. "Done a good job with limited resources and made a challenge once so he deserves a shot".

It would genuinely be embarassing if we replace Pep with Rodgers.

Did anyone at Leicester bottle it or did they just finish where they should have over 38 games?

If you think Rodgers bottled it, tell us how i.e. what did he or didn't he do that constitutes him bottling it?

What's certain is they didn't bottle it when they beat the only team to beat us in cup competitions to win the FA Cup.

It would not be akin to the Rags appointing Moyes.

Anyhoo, he isn't my choice, he's just one of the guys I think City will be looking at - and have been rumoured to be. I do suspect he is a serious contender at the moment but, just like anyone else under consideration, his stock could go up or down before Pep leaves.

No one will be good enough. Bluemoon will be in overdrive and the rags will once again take their rightful place…now 1, 2, 3 you are back in the room ;)

Would you say Rodgers and Liverpool bottled it?

I would and not just once.

Rodgers is clearly very talented, a very good coach, but to me a managers personality is reflected in his team and for that reason I would not want Brenda anywhere near this club, he is the David Brent of Football.

Italians don’t really have the same issues about moving to rivals. Look at all the players and managed that have been to both Milan’s and Juve as an example.
