I agree on the salary part. They should be paid far more annually but there should also be a complete ban on holding other positions while serving. There should also be a grace period after service where they are still paid from the public purse but forbidden from fulfilling private functions.
Like the idea of dual MPs. The whole system of representation requires overhaul, and the pandemic should end the ludicrous practice of MPs deserting the House on Thursdays for surgeries/long weekends. If they rotated, one serving the constituency one week in Parliament the next, they might not be so estranged from those they represent, and they might actually get more done. Digital voting would be a start.
