If it hadn't been the British colonising the world and exploiting territories overseas for gain then it would have been The French, The Dutch, The Spanish or the Portuguese. It's folly to say British alone saw the acquisition of overseas territories as the optimum route to wealth. All major European nations at that time were at it.
Sounds like the same argument with the Dippers & Rags.

What you are saying is correct. We don't need every media talking about City but I would hope that our players are recognized from time to time. Its happening more often now because as the media is changing from the same old guard. I just feel for the players that they don't get the recognition they deserve, but hey maybe its for the best!
For example, they just voted Cristiano as player of the month of September?! Does he deserve it? I am not sure he does but maybe I am wrong.

Probably. And he probably knows enough about history to know that the industrial revolution was born from the cotton trade in the mid-1700's. Care to guess how that cotton was harvested?did you ever hear of the industrial revolution?
