The train adds about 10 hours on in total, and turns it from a one day to a three day trip, unless you pay a fortune for an early Manchester to London train to do it in 2.£329 for a 300 mile return flight is daylight robbery.
Eurostar is £129 return (including Brussels to Bruges) plus about £60 for a return train from Manchester.
Getting the late train on Monday to London so it's only an extra half day off work on the Wednesday and spreading it out makes it a bit more relaxing. Even with two overnight stays included it's still well over £200 cheaper in total for the 3 of us. Having said that I'm travelling with my sons so we're sharing hotel rooms which saves quite a bit.The train adds about 10 hours on in total, and turns it from a one day to a three day trip, unless you pay a fortune for an early Manchester to London train to do it in 2.
