Depends what the ‘package price‘ is I suppose. If we presume we were prepared to pay £120M for Kane plus £300k a week for 5 years that takes us to £200M. If Harland is on £67M, there’s quite a bit to play with. Admittedly they won’t want to blow their wage structure out of the water but there are ways and means to not do that. Finally, someone will pay, so I’m of the view that I’d rather it was us than anyone else..
Thats right, I’d guess we have a total package price, that we would negotiate around. What I’m saying is, if we think we have an agreement and another club comes in offering a deal that is over our total package budget, give or take a bit,we would walk away not be drawn into a bidding war or held to ransom.

Am I right in thinking that his Dad and his agent want £30 million apiece. That would probably scupper any deal coupled with his wage demands.

Are you aware that we have paid more in agent fees than United almost every season in the past decade? We are used to paying a shitload in fees, and amazing how people can’t seem to accept that.
Spread across numerous players, can see that, however, for a singular one? Nope, which is the problem l!

Its an estimated 500m over a 5yr contract, all in for Erling. God knows where you go from their in negotiation upon renewal.

Not sure from a financial perspective it impacts the deal, but if we did get Haaland he stays for 5 years, we still have a very valuable asset if he decides to leave. If we bought Kane, there is no re sale value as he will be retiring. But Haaland in 5 years he does move on, we could well sell him for 200 million.

or lose him on a free.

All these posts about silly money for agents, his wages or the actual fee.

To be honest though someone will pay it, so why not us. Just go all in.

It would be unbelievable to have him being supplied by KDB, Grealish and Foden. Goodness me.
The complete team.
Well almost, LB as always needed addressing

Fair play to the agent/family who have done very well to get a 150m player to be potentially sold for £65m. In my opinion that is their justification to ask for the balance and for City to hopefully just pay up. Not entirely the same situation but we basically bought Tevez for nothing but gave the agents the equivalent fee.

It's not as if we would be paying 150m plus all the agent fees here.

I'm sure the end figures would have been similar to the Kane deal.

Seems that Puma want him as their poster boy. So they probably want him to play for a club that wears the puma kit. If he does sign with puma I think we might get him.

Newcastle are also sponsored by puma..... ha! ;)
