No surprise. He is not a great manager more efficient in his role but he still did not deserve the abuse he received from the supposedly loyal Geordie fanbase. The personal attacks went way over the line. He should have fucked them off last season.

He’s been on a hiding to nothing there and has tended to be warm in his praise of us when we’ve played.

Thus begins the managerial carousel on the Tyne.

Chris a few have mentioned the ups and down of following any club, I get that, it's part of football but actively encouraging something that will increase the likelihood of more downs is weird in my opinion.

On your second point about needing success I'm talking about the club needing current levels of income to sustain itself. Its not rocket science, look at Arsenal since they swapped CL money for Thursday money. In the scenario I'm talking about we have 5 really strong clubs, Newcastle, City, Utd, Liverpool and Chelsea, 5 into 4 doesn't go. One well run, successful club will miss out if they make even a couple of mistakes, Utd are a more recent example of quickly it can go wrong. Mistakes at that level are much harder to rectify, they are a lot more expensive than Bony and Jo, mistakes like Ozil, Sanchez and Ronaldo can cripple a club. Post Pep that could easily be you given history also tells us that legendary managers are very rarely adequately replaced.
Qualifying for the CL isn’t as vital as it once was due to the prize money in the PL.

No time for fucking about when they're 19th.
That turnip was never turning that boat around so best get rid now and give them a real shot.

They should go for Zidane if they can. He'd deffo attract some top players meaning they have a great shot at staying up maybe even midtable

Just read what he's said about the abuse he and his family have suffered must be terrible as he is a local lad managing his club, he is 60 now with millions in the bank why on earth would you go back to the pressure of football management, time to buy a couple of houses around the world and enjoy yourself with your family.
Unless he gets the rags job then happy days.

He's released a statement saying this could be his last job as the amount of abused he's received being Newcastle manager has really affected him and his family. He's really ripped into the supporters
This is a shame because he seems a thoroughly likeable and decent human being.

Several of his tenants were recently hospitalised because of mould he didn't deal with in the properties he rents out. He evicted a mum and 2 kids when they complained publicly about it.

He was a massive twat at Sheffield United. Took the job, then said he needed a holiday to recover from surgeries he had before taking the job, then after 6 weeks paid holiday managed a dozen games and quit to manage Newcastle.

He quite regularly tries to pick out individual local reporters to attack them for reporting things which turn out to be true.

I don't think he's a nice man, although I've not met him.

Wow. Some serious digging up of skeletons from the man who can‘t bear the least criticism of Sterling.

Are we talking about the same Steve Bruce here?

the one I think we are talking about is a c*nt
I’ve always thought he comes across as a decent chap. Sure, he’s not shown total loyalty to clubs as a manager, but the industry he works in has zero loyalty.

He’s an average manager. Plenty better; plenty worse.

He is probably in the dinosaur category now after what Pep has done to English football. He’ll never get another job at a progressive club.

Having listened to him describe what he felt like after losing both parents suddenly, close together, he seems an empathetic bloke trying to do his best. Sadly, that isn’t good enough anymore.

Not a lot of sympathy from me with Bruce getting his cards.

Left us in the brown stuff when he departed 3 weeks before 19-20 season, this after we let him start a month later so he could watch the cricket after losing his parents.
