Brighton (A) - Post-Match Thread

In your scenario, the person offside has passed the ball through to the player fouled for the penalty.

In the game, there were 3 or 4 passes in between, which was deemed as a second phase of attack.
Which is bollocks in all honesty, we all know if that was st the other end they’d have used the offside to rescind the penalty.

At the end of the day, all we want is consistency and it communicated well.

I’ve no idea if it would have been rescinded at the other end. We get our fair share of penalties.

Every single club’s fans believe refs and VAR are against them. It probably stems from remembering the decisions that go against you and forgetting the ones that go for you (as they were obviously deserved).

the control we have is pure filth and down right dirty ? we have this look about us that puts the fear into anybody facing us. even the officials are trying to help the other teams when facing us ? but even that is not enough

but what i liked today was the knowing the game was done at half time and lets just keep our shape in the 2nd half
foden is from another planet and can reach any levels the game has to offer and will be right up there with the legends of the game

brighton tried to ruff us up and the official let them ? the cheeky fuckers had the cheek to call and boo the official but the truth is i think the referee could not keep up and looked out of shape and slow

7/10 good first half and got the job done then played with brighton in the 2nd half

Walker & Cancelo booked for their first foul and Veltman their right back was hacking at Grealish all the game and just got warnings everytime as for the Ederson booking the ref was playing to the whinging mard arse southern shandy drinking , Pimms sipping home crowd , bunch of southern wankers booing Grealish everytime he recieved the ball , the same twats will be cheering his every move in an England shirt.
Love the fact their support are delusional enough to think they could get anywher near a top four spot , well today has firmly given them a reality check , know your place Brighton who a decade ago were attracting 6,000 a game , 17th place is a good season for you bunch of dreamers.
Well said! Their fans seem to think that they are able to put it up to a team like City as in go toe to toe! The booing of Grealish today summed the fuckers up was hoping Jack would put one away and celebrate on front of the twats.
I actually have hatred towards them which is unusually for a team that finishes in the bottom 5 most seasons.
Hope they go down next season fucking cunts.

As someone said earlier, the ruled offside Sterling goal vs Spurs in the CL was similar
Aguero passed the ball backwards and there were a number of passes before the goal

Exactly this, soon as the linesman considers ‘next phase’ then he should be putting his flag up, he never, which constitutes to a ‘clear & obvious’ mistake, you know the get out phrase they keep using. Var was brought in to clear up these mistakes (so they said?) not create more confusion. It’s a simple equation, when is offside actually offside, when a player is offside……simples
It’s really not hard is it. The guy gained an advantage from being offside and without that everything else wouldn’t have happened

Weird, you could understand some Villa fans being bitter , but no mark fans like Brighton, Leicester and Norwich booing him? Suppose it gives Sterling a break from it.

I think Potter is an excellent manager and he has turned B&HA into an attractive team which has really got the fans behind them. A real advance on the Hughton years. They play, as far as is possible, like Guardiola's City but their problem is that if they want to play more like a Guardioal team and play it better they need better players and that's what club's like Brighton find almost impossible to bring in. And so the gulf in class was clear, especially in the first half. But I think it's time to stop being unduly modest. Well played, Brighton but this City team is just something else. Phil Foden (and others) is something else. Pep Guardiola is something else.

7/10 for the first half...are you mad? More like 10/10 first half and 7/10 for the second.

the 7/10 was for the whole game

2nd half we coasted and played with them and just did the job in controlling the lead
i think its a fair account of the performance and 7/10 is very good
