The Conservative Party

Just been reading about the voting on the environment bill and conservatives voting against the House of Lords amendment on banning the dumping of raw sewage in our waters.

I can’t work out any justifiable reason to vote against it, does anyone know why they did?

How many of them own shares in water companies....

Like everything this government do, it all comes back to covering up the problems of Brexit and therefore exposing their own lies. The chemicals that the water companies need have become harder to source and more expensive because they are imported. So standards have been dropped to mitigate that. If this bill passes Then the water companies continue to rely on EU imports which cost more and the downsides of Brexit are in the headlines rather than covered up and gaslit.

That was what my thought was it might be related to. Even so though, you’d think it’s such an open goal for the opposition to go after, it’s a policy that I can’t see any member of the public being happy with.

Brexit is still too toxic (like the rivers and beaches). Even if they're not happy, it will still be part of the price worth paying to be free of the environmental red tape that they used to think was a good idea.

How on earth does this make sense when we trying to cut carbon consumption? Swapping low intensive domestically reared sheep for high intensively farmed sheep that will frozen and shipped more than half-way around the world.

Utterly nonsensical for any other reason besides giving good news for a cynical self-serving cabinet of the Brexit Party.

None of it makes sense.
They will sell the country down the river just so the lying fraud can boast about the trade deals we can do now we are outside the EU, and in that respect he is right- the EU would never have been remotely close to doing deals like these harmful, ludicrous, farcical efforts.
He can wave his little bit of paper in the air and declare ’deals in our time’ just like Chamberlain did in 1939, and we all know how that turned out.

Can't wait to see the budget.

Hearing Sunak won't even spit on it before fucking us dry whilst his mates at Goldman Sachs get another tax cut.

Exactly. We've got a shit deal which means we need vets to authenticate exports of anything containing animal products to EU.

Moving anything to Northern Ireland is so onerous because of paperwork and red tape, big firms have given up.

It’s a doomed project led by charlatans, we will see increased regionalisation because of the supply issues caused by the pandemic, moves to more sustainable manufacturing and transportation systems and China weening themselves off of reliance on exporting as much of the worlds goods.

Although a few bastards in the party and their donors might get rich through graft and asset bubble manipulation .I suppose that's the most important thing.

Bleak innit.
According to some though, we are guilty of ‘talking Britain down’
Someday they may be able to differentiate that from ‘talking brexit down’.
There is a world of difference.

Can't help but think the NZ exporters will do well but in reality I expect "cheap" imports will be priced just a bit below UK offerings so that TESCO etc can all enjoy the benefits of tariff free NZ lamb
Until UK farming has been destroyed, then the price of imports will go up.

"More money for public services"

The headline that will drown out all the tax cut/bungs Rishi will be giving to his mates on Wednesday.

You can't say that mate, it will upset some on here and it just makes you a remainiac moaner who should keep within the confines of the UK-EU relations thread...

;)
And that is all Brexiteers have got left in the tank a cult following that can only trade on insults to defend what they have supported. Quiet sad really but I guess nobody likes to admit that they were wrong and conned whilst the rest of us take the consequences,
