Next Manager after Pep

Didn't Txiki say years ago that after an intense manager like pep, you need to bring in someone a lot more chilled to give the players a break?
Just checked this and it wasn't Txiki it was when he was leaving bayern. They wanted a more relaxed and less intense manager to replace him, which does make sense.

This is not true.

City are able to compete in the market with Barca, Bayern ,Real due to Pep's presence. Pep at City balanced out the playing field in Europe.

Once Pep goes the situation will be back to normal again. City don't have the prestige to compete with those clubs as we saw with Mancini and Pellegrini era. The occasional elite level player + loads of OK/good players surrounding them.
That is good enough to compete in the PL but second class in CL.

It will be back to the occasional title + cup win once hes gone.

EDIT- This is why the board pissing about in the transfer market is extremely annoying. Maximise his time here!
Absolute fucking drivel, bull shit and bollocks.

Hahaha what a load of tosh.

Pep has brought professionalism, pride, hard work, accountability and prestige to the club and to suggest that his years here will have no impact on future signings is complete bollox.

Pep was enlisted to create a Man City ethos. We will continue to have this identity long after he leaves. The club has been working hard to build this istory you are so quick to trample on. Football did not start in 1992!

Trophy after trophy, record after record shows our outstanding history over the last 10+ years. With blues like you we don’t need the rags/Scousers trampling/airbrushing our history as you are happy to talk shit for them.

Fuck off with this pathetic bile and grow a pair.

Haha! You must be new to the delightful insights from meathunterr.

Did he really say that?
That's definitely putting your eggs in the one basket

i just don't see him as the next city manager ? to much old school system and counter attacking football.
its going to be hard to follow pep and maybe managers know the hard task of the city managers job would be.
so maybe wait for the next time and let somebody else go first and take the stick

I would love to see a list of the 100 managers most often mentioned to replace Ferguson over the years and where they ended up once he did....(ironically I would suspect Pep would have made that list). Bottomline is even 18months is a really long time in football. It wouldn't shock me if its some really off the wall person, I get the feeling the club will look to appoint someone that fits the system over changing the system for someone else.

that is the key for me

the club spent 10 years building the system and adding the right people to suit the number one pick in pep.
maybe the owners will look hard at what happened at united with fergie leaving and think well maybe it should be a complete change. trying to find another pep is impossible and nobody out there comes close. so maybe build something new and maybe the DNA of a passing out from the back and keeping the ball stays. but more attacking with strikers being the main setup

i would like more options up front with proper strikers and having 3 or 4 instead of a false 9 and rotation of wingers
i know pep never really used a target man but again can anybody match pep with his setup's and make it work

the only hope to cling onto with life after pep is other managers at other clubs still win titles and silverware ?manchester city owners always find away to keep infront of the others and i trust them 1000%

Good point.

Even though I find Rogers odious I wonder if he is the right guy? He is proven enough in the PL at a decent level. And isn't an exact Pep clone... for one, he's a ****.

No manager in world football (who is available, and some that aren't) is going to refuse the post.
Waiting on the next manager to balls it up could (probably will) backfire.
Any manager will jump at the chance to manage City. Any of them.

Don't feed the troll!

Bayern went with Anchelotti after Pep.. it failed spectacularly. Players complained vehemently that they were not being pushed hard enough in training. They had to bring back Jupp Heynckes a fourth time to right the ship again. So no you're better off going with someone like Enrique after Pep. The intensity can go from a 10 to a 7 or 8, but if you go below a 5 the whole enterprise falls apart completely.
