Next Manager after Pep

Pep is doing this season and next and then he's gone.

The club are planning for that as it stands.

Rodgers was actually a United fan as a kid but has asked a couple of people to keep that quiet, as he also did when in charge at Liverpool.

His missus wants to move back to the north West, so it's not beyond the realms that United do push the button on him first.

Rodgers, however, is in love with the idea of coming to City and he's been given enough encouragement that he's near the top of our list.

Oh dear

Agreed, I would not be surprised if he was here until at least 2025.
Think if he wants a stab at international management he’ll be looking at the next world cup so would want to be in a job by 2025. If he wanted a year off first that would be 2024. So the best I can see is a year extension to 2024, not expecting it really though.

I thought next season was optional for Pep ?

Could he change his mind...stay longer or leave at the end of this season

Taken from a article last week.

Brendan Rodgers has been reportedly interested in the Manchester City job for a while and that particular line of thinking has cropped up in another report this week.

As part of an exclusive report by Caught Offside, Brendan Rodgers is 'reluctant' to enter negotiations with Manchester United - who are currently on the search for a new coach, with the Leicester manager 'preferring to succeed' Pep Guardiola at the Etihad Stadium.

Rodgers would not last 18 months here unless he was given all star team. He is no way better or equivalent to Tuchel, Klopp, Conte.

So City need to have easily the best squad in the league for City to get away with Rodgers as manager.

For anyone with an opinion .
Just say for instance we didn't win a trophy this season .
Do you think their would be a parting of ways in the summer or do you still think pg would see the final year out?

No there wouldn’t he’ll definitely see out his contract. It also wouldn’t make any difference to whether he extended it or didn’t.

Rogers is a good coach and we’d win stuff with City but whoever we get, it is going to be a drop off and we’ll feel that.

Just pray Pep wants to continue or wins the CL in the next two seasons.

We can get someone with superior ideas than Rogers. Ten Hag or Nagelsmann for instance. With those two what we have built with Pep wouldn’t go to waste

Don’t know enough about those fellows to be fair but I do quite like Rogers.

Although I get the feeling it’d be more Pellegrini than Pep.

It's never a good thing when players know it's the managers last season...how can we avoid this ?

Ten Hag has been at Ajax since 2017 developing a similar kind of football to ours. He was also manager at the Bayern second team while Pep was there. A great manager who improves his players. He also looks a lot like Pep, so we wouldn’t feel the difference that much lol

Nagelsmann is the manager at Bayern currently who was at Leipzig before. He was a center back as a player who had to retire when he was 20 years old because of injuries, then studied and started working his way up as manager. Still super young (only 34) but very intelligent and his teams are great to watch. Watched Bayern a bit today vs Benfica, his stamp is there already. Pep likes him too

These two are just some examples
