IMO he certainly does, he has been here long enough now to understand how much we despise the red cnuts and how much it does mean to the fans! He does tend to underplay it and i believe its an attempt to take the pressure off the players a little and not let them get embroiled into the frenzy, that we get ourselves whipped up into as fans.

Seems that whenever weve 'needed' to beat the rags under Pep, we have. With Chelsea playing Burnley at home this weekend, as early on as it is in the season, for me, we need to win this game. Hopefully not another damp squib derby please.

In the cold light of day Pep is correct the Bruges game is more important , if we lose the pressure is on to win our last two group games , if we lose to the Rags we have another 27 games to respond to a defeat.
But , i dont really think he gets the rivalry , if he thinks Barca v Real was a grudge match then he should re-visit the history of our derby fixtures , we hate the Rags to a man , we despise the f8ckers and we used to be in the same position as the Rags are now , it was our cup final
Things have changed the Rags are now a minor irritant and a local skirmish but every single one of us wants to smash them every time we meet , depsite our recent unprecedented success local bragging rights matter and we have to keep the Rag scum in their place and we do not want to fall eight points behind Chelski at this stage
Saturday is a must win game.

If you think pep doesn’t think both games are equally as important then you are mistaken.
