My rule is, always ignore ratings. Ive really enjoyed some piles of shite.
Can you give examples?
Also examples when you agreed completely with the reviews

I'm halfway through the third book. They've filmed this before the final book is released so, either they've had some input from the writers on how to finish it, or we're going to get some cobbled ending like they did with GOT.
I'm only up to book 6 at the moment and it's shocking how different the tv show is. I'm actually liking the books more but that's usually the case
I like Jennifer Aniston. I think she's a great actress and it was OK that she was annoying because not every single person in the show was annoying. Unlike Successon as you say which was awful.I found it interesting watching the content so beloved, by some on here. I watched the first series of 'Succession', I suffered through the second series and put myself through the angst of the third with 'time invested' reasons, hoping it gets better. The constant bickering in the family and the filled out empty discussions on whatever subject matter adds nothing to anything, so much so, I can't tell if a lot of it is ad libbed!
I understand the dynamics, but it's written so poorly that myself, as a viewer, don't really give a shit about rich people problems in this format. I got to the same conclusion with 'Billions', but much quicker this time, thanks to that show.
In comparison, I've been involved with 'The Morning Show/ Wars' and after a patchy first series, the second has been utterly brilliant! Yes, it has the same power grabbing rich people problems, but the avenues of exploration are so much more diverse and current.
Apart from Aniston being, well... Aniston, the rest of the cast is solid enough enough without anyone being amazing and so the writing is the thing that takes a bow.
Just had a quick Google of the [new] showrunner, so hats off to Kerry Ehrin, who had the show rewritten and, as a result, seems much more like an Aaron Sorkin offering!
Don't think I've ever written a review 'so far', as long, so I'm suitably impressed!
Sent you a pm mateI'm halfway through the third book.
I believe that season 6 involves a big jump to the later books and is only 6 episodes in total.
The books are fucking brilliant.
Pretty decent that with subject matter often avoided by other comedies.Alma isn’t Normal on Iplayer.
Bit of a mixture of Mandy, Toast, Borassic and Shameless.
Quite enjoying The Outlaws, I think the casting is pretty good and the characters have all already wormed their ways into the sympathetic (or should it be empathetic, maybe just pathetic) side of my brain. All heart-warming nonsense of course but good fun all the same.Pretty decent that with subject matter often avoided by other comedies.
The Outlaws on BBC is also decent from the first couple of episodes

I used to live in Bristol so a lot of the locations are nostalgically familiar to me. And the sight of Christopher Walken doing his thing in that city is a proper headfuckQuite enjoying The Outlaws, I think the casting is pretty good and the characters have all already wormed their ways into the sympathetic (or should it be empathetic, maybe just pathetic) side of my brain. You are the first person I've encountered that doesn't enjoy Succession. I can understand some might find the characters unsavory, but it is certainly not 'poorly written.'
The company is a media conglomerate, not too dissimilar to Rupert Murdoch's. We see it envelop other entities during the series and Its Patriarch even details plans to take over local TV news networks. We even get a story around sexual harassments at one of the subsidiary cruise companies. So to answer you, we get to knows lots about the company. Can I ask you, then, what in the show is revelatory in any fashion?
What do we know about the company and who it deals with and what the dynamics of those relationships are? What's the impact of having the president's ear and how does that shape anything we see on screen?

However, the company itself is not the story but a backdrop. Like the title not so subtly suggests, the whole premise is around who will be the patriarchs successor after he announces he will retire. He reneges on this and the whole infighting begins.
The real story is the view we get of an American oligarchy. We see the dysfunction and how out of touch with the real world they are. Its fascinating and also darkly humorous. In fact, its hard to distinguish if it is in fact a dark comedy or a drama. It occupies both genres seamlessly.
That's my take and why I enjoy it. I think its excellently written if you can see the humour. I dont think its meant to be taken too seriously.
I’m a couple of episodes further on and it is crap which is a shame as I quite enjoyed the first two series. The missis is enjoying it so will probably half watch the rest. Hopefully something in the remainder will make it worthwhileJust binned You after 4 episodes. Crap
Watched the first 4 episodes of this, it's different to anything I've watched before
What's La Brea on (or will be on) over here?Mentioned this few weeks back am looking forward to watching it.
