No, you don’t. I can’t believe Labour are getting so much support from Eastleigh which goes to show how much this government is failing.Gotta feel sorry for Paul Scully trying to defend the shit show................no wait ....... no you don't

Embarrassing.Johnson - " Paul I have been caught banging 2 nineteen year olds.....could you go on QT and defend me? "
Scully - " Sure Boris I have no shame.... "
As a former public servant, it is incumbent upon you to declare any payment or benefit received from a third party/friend to protect yourself from allegations of impropriety. This includes accommodation, travel costs, meals, gifts, etc. There are de minimis limits to be observed, but in practice it is customary (read mandatory in my case) to report anything offered and accepted. The only payments I ever received were in the form of cheques made payable to "Inland Revenue" or (latterly) "HMRC", but free meals arose occasionally, as did small gifts of manufactured goods made by the employer. All were declared on my return to the office. It’s not improper to stay at a friends house free of charge.
I think this is a problem for those that wish to discredit boris. Picking out things that aren’t valid dilutes the argument.
it’s not hard to find evidence of his unsuitability to run the country. There’s no need to generate additional invalid reasons why.
Where is it said that it hasn’t been declared? As a former public servant, it is incumbent upon you to declare any payment or benefit received from a third party/friend to protect yourself from allegations of impropriety. The Prime Minister of the country is no different, being a public servant.
This is also spelled out in the Register of Members' Interests legislation.
Where is it said that it hasn’t been declared?
Saved me a job!Oh - its just a statement put out by his spokesperson in Number 10 that says it

Declaring it in one register, it seems, claiming it's not relevant to the one with a £ value.
It being someone he's just ennobled and given a ministerial job to must be an unfortunate coincidence.
He's regularly been late or not bothered declaring things, rules are for others.
The thing is the refusal is pointless - journo's have already done an online search and found that its rents out for £26k pw.

Good grief. If it had been declared, it would be on the register of interests. If it's not declared, then obviously there's nowhere to say it hasn’t been declared.Where is it said that it hasn’t been declared?

I've taken this from a council website. That value is equivalent to about 3-4 hours work after deductions if you were on one of the lower grades, hardly a big inducement. The figure quoted above represents more than 3 months of Johnson's salary as PM after tax.
Why is it that we hold people earning average or lower than average salaries to a higher standard than the prime minister?
- Staff should not accept gifts or hospitality over a minimal value (£25). Any offers of gifts, prizes hospitality or sponsorship should be recorded in the Council’s Gifts & Hospitality Register held by each Director or, in the case of Directors the Chief Executive. The register must include all offers of gifts, etc whether accepted or declined. Permission should be sought from the Directors before any gift, hospitality or sponsorship is accepted. When in doubt the employee should always refuse such gifts. A standard form is available on the Gifts and Hospitality page.
forelock tuggers mate - same sort of people who can't have anything said against the likes of Douglas Murray or David Starkey coz they talk posh don't they? They think the underclasses should know better and those with plummy accents already do know better
Didn’t he come out as a massive racist in the last year or two?David Starkey isn't really that posh, his affected way of speaking is only because of public speaking lessons and career in academia. His parents were often unemployed and in poverty.

He outed himself - oh and the Roamns, Ancient Greeks, Chinese etc never happened
He has always had a habit of playing the role of a social commentator without really knowing or understanding too much about a subject (the occasion when he talked about economics and called Alan Johnson just a postman was one of them) and he has always been acerbic and rude. His take down of Jeffrey Archer is comedy gold.
He is expertise is limited to the Tudor period of history. A man with a big ego and a sense of theatre who needs his stage.
Quite tragic that he has descended into this on-screen persona and junked his career and legacy for fame. I know he was actively involved in free speaking events with students of history.
