The last two of those games were really meaningless as City won the PL very easily. You missed out two League Cup Semi-finals where City won twice at Old Trafford and ended up winning the cup on both occasions.

You have to go back to the 2016-17 when United last beat City in a meaningful match. That, if I recall, was a full strength United against an effective City reserve team at Old Trafford in the League Cup when City had a big European Match a few days afterwards.

Meaningless ? A derby ?

They will be set up like WEST HAM, even though they’re the home team, the two things going in their favour is that we overcomplicate putting the ball away and will gift golden opportunities for them.
We WILL control the ball and the game for the majority as usual, but MUST put our chances away, as we can be damn sure they will. There is absolutely no point bossing a game, to just get beat. We are the masters of spunking away chances and getting beat.

This is going to be a draw due to their fear of being done over like the dippers, which would be a beautiful day, but I doubt it will happen and they will just pack the box and be narrow to stifle our shots. They know where their strengths lie(Penandes & Ronny). If we deny them that route, it cuts down their chances.

Come back after the game and tell me I was wrong.

I agree City are a much better team, but remember we lost 2-0 at home last week to Palace. They scored 2 goals aginst us, now if they can do it, so can the rags.
Simple fact is, is we play shit like we did last week and constantly dont score our chances they could win. Its in our hands really.

the palace game the referee control it and city players lost their cool. from the keeper wasting time from the kick off only to get booked in the 85th minute. laporte sending off and zaha being a c*nt all game letting palace kick us of the park

yes we should know by now what the other team will do and the officials turning a blind eye to it
also missed chances are the nightmares pep must suffer. even in winning we do miss far to much for a great team

I hate derby days. That sickly feeling in the pit of my stomach at the thought of losing to that shower. And don't tell me that we're a better team than them; I'm fully aware of that. On paper, we should sleepwalk to a win. Which has been the case for a decade now. So, how come our recent (three or four years) record is mixed against them? They did us three times in four meetings last year. I just want the game over and done with, preferably with a comfortable win.

i can understand what the point was but a meaningless derby never
we have turned into united of the 90s and we don't see the manchester derby as win at all cost that means the whole season is based on 2 games to keep the fans happy

its the game all city fans use to look for when the fixture come out in june ? when are the derbies and am having it that day. but never let a united fan fool anybody when they say its Liverpool their biggest game ? they love a derby win more than we do

If that is the case — I don't remember it very clearly — then that surely is the definition of a meaningless match.

spot on its the hope that kills you and makes you feel sick

united are very poor and city are 2 or 3 levels above ? but add the dodgy officials and its looks a different game
its the knowing the officials are not going to be fair and will be all one sided from a throw-inns to a 50/50 foul and then the cards that control the game

It still is the first fixtures I look for,so I can prepare myself in advance
