Ref Watch

The fact Michael Oliver was most definitely not even handed in today’s game in any way, shape or form isn’t the question anymore.

The fact that we won once again whilst being clearly cheated against, which we are on a regular basis isn’t even the question anymore.

The real question is why Oliver and his fellow cronies and the organisation they are employed by are seen as an independent body which seems to require no regulation or accountability in what is now multi billion pound industry.

The manipulation of very simple rules and the use of game management by officials both on the field and now within VAR to favour certain teams and outcomes is both established and obvious.

Until PGMOL is either independently regulated or replaced altogether we will continue to endure the definite one sided officiating for certain teams which I can only guess is seen as a financial necessity for the good of the product as a whole.

I’m obviously paranoid as f*ck but I feel the Premier league and the MSM are complicit in all of this as it seems to be able to go on unabated and where possible unquestioned.

It pisses me off as I really believe we are one of the great teams of the premier league era but instead of being revered and celebrated like every other team were we are hindered, cheated and our achievements downplayed. All the while inferior rivals are lauded on any and every opportunity.

Until the day PGMOL are regulated by an independent body which has no vested interest in football but are able to hold them to account for questionable decisions and/or basic failures to apply the laws of the game correctly we will be slagging off Oliver, Moss, Alty, and the other shower of c#nts for the foreseeable.
Having just watched MOTD I am 100% convinced the media are complicit. They completely ignored it, even though it was BLATANT today.

It's cheating pure and simple. The Jesus penalty was bloody blatant, yet Oliver, who was right there, or var, didn't give it. Questions should be asked we are getting shit decisions like this almost every week. It was 2-0, another goal totally kills it. Instead it's not given and it could have cost us.

The all round sh*thousery of Tierney at Anfield did cost us.

Oliver at OT seems to become a rag I watch him in other games even refereeing us and he is much fairer! Think Fergie has his number.
Got to be a video of Oliver fucking his mrs whilst the pisscan is wanking off watching whilst necking a bottle of bells.

The big decisions will be debated til the cows come home but for me it can only be intentional I.e corruption.

This is clearer in the smaller decisions which set the tone of the game which never make it onto highlights. The first half they get every and I mean everything they ask for I mean some laughable stuff. Meanwhile we get genuine fouls not given repeatedly.

This happens in every bit game to us and it serves to let the players now what is happening. And you can see their reactions, Bernardo throws his arms up kev turns purple etc grealish still can't get used to it etc It takes us that much more to win games with this mentality never mind win the league over the season. I love our players even more taking this into account.

The look on their faces is one of pure injustice and disbelief.

I hope fergie dies before they win anything cheating scumbags

Nope,
Neville said he got a Nick on the ball so VAR didn’t even need to look at it…
Fuck what Neville says. He is a biased wanker.
If Walker/cancello had got a nick you know it's a penalty. The cheating bastard Oliver should not be anywhere near our matches. Watch the assault by PR37 that is a red for any other footballer not playing for the rags or dips.

In which case I hope he lives to a very ripe old age.

the CRap7 foul on KDB was ugly and dirty and should have been red
the ref blew for a foul by bruno on KDB and the ball was out of play and CRap7 storms in on KDB

i hope the city players and KDB bank it and give him the bird when we play them again
only this time don't play with them just go straight for the jugular and give them the beating they should have had yesterday

They took a beating yesterday. My god did they ever. More of a beating than our 6-1. Total domination and control. As Souness said yesterday ‘i have never seen a game like that’.

The Bottler needs to be renamed. He didn't bottle that pen he just decided no matter what he wasn't giving it. The ball's out of play so he could have a VAR check, go over to the monitor, but no, he ain't gonna give us the chance of another goal. From where he was he could not have seen any nick by the defender on the ball. Just wasn't giving it!

I'm just watching the Brentford v Norwich game and Pukki is in the goal area and gets taken out, only the goalie to beat, ref gives the pen but yellow cards the defender, six yards from the goal. Laporte was forty yards from the goal and gets a red. No one will convince me that the LotG are applied even-handedly, fairly and with unimpeachable impartiality. And the LotG will tell us that the pen awarded against the defending side is the 'red card'! What a fuckin' balls up!

On the Norwich penalty - it's in the laws - the ref was correct. If it's in the area and deemed an attempt at playing the ball, then it's penalty+yellow. Basically the intention it to prevent a fair but slightly mistimed challenge getting both a goal and a sending-off double whammy.

"Where a player commits an offence against an opponent within their own penalty area which denies an opponent an obvious goal-scoring opportunity and the referee awards a penalty kick, the offender is cautioned if the offence was an attempt to play the ball; in all other circumstances (e.g. holding, pulling, pushing, no possibility to play the ball etc.) the offending player must be sent off."

There was a whole series of very similar fouls committed by both teams in the first half. Hey presto, Utd got the free kicks and City didn't, stood out a mile.

Utd players hit the ground to stop play. That clearly indicated that they thought setpieces were their only chance.

Many of the fouls on City players were late but as the ball had been retained, it was presumably deemed advantage. One or two of the advantages were minimal at best, and you could see that some of the late hits were annoying the players - Walker definitely got one that he was annoyed about. I assume that it was drilled into the players to keep calm and ignore the ref's behaviour as much as possible.
