Everton (H) - Post-Match Thread

Benitez soon went back into his technical area when I shouted at him. Probably wasn’t me, probably the 4th official making his way over. Although I had shouted: “Where’s the 4th official, you’re taking liberties!”
In your best teacher's voice, I bet!

I predict Benitez will be sacked at the end of the season. Everton were the worst Premier League side I have seen at the Etihad this season. Zero ambition and that's completely down to the coach. Always the same.

great win, and it was eeded to keep up ith Chelsea/Pool.

PSG up next, what a game that will be, really hope we agin can dominate it but now with converting the chances.

Great win. Very comfortable in the end but can't say I was too happy with the first half before cancelo's magic. off the ball we were exceptional, pressed like possessed men, everybody was superb, the intensity was unmatched and at the same level we've seen vs chelsea/united/Liverpool but when we got on the ball it was too slow and obvious. I'm only being critical because the right time to do it without going over the top is after an easy day at the office and not dropped points. We really need to sharpen up in the final third so we can put a prolonged winning streak in.

Having said that, after the opener it was the perfect second half, completely at our own tempo, no worries whatsoever and strolled to the win. Midfield trio and defence were all fantastic

Have to say that was one of the most abject performances I've seen from Everton both on and off the pitch, no fight from them at all, their fans couldn't even be arsed and Everton usually are well backed. I can see it getting really nasty there after a few bad results and a dicking from the red dippers

i really don't understand what sterling is thinking when he's got all the time in the world to score a tap in
its like the panic button is pressed ? maybe a positive mind coach would help. we seen the best and worst of Sterling today and with no time to think takes his goal well. but the missed one will be the talk of the town.

anyway easy win really and the truth is city never had to get out of bed and we walked the game
a couple of world class goals and that pass by cancelo was pure filth

the officials again was poor and the sterling pen was never a pen no contact and was outside the box
but the 2 others was nailed on that never got a viewing by VAR ?

An absolutely fantastic performance all round, albeit against an average Everton side. This was Raheem's best game for ages, so I'm seriously made up for him. He's not back to his absolute best, but today's game was a step in the right direction.

It was great to see Palmer start. He had a few poor touches, but several brilliant ones too, so the future looks bright where he's concerned. McAtee looks like a Foden clone!! He was only on for 5 minutes, but you could see his quality oozing through.

Finally a word about Rodri. He was outstanding today, as were Silva & Gundog. We've fretted about replacing Fern, but in Rodri we don't have a direct replacement, we have a different, but equally effective type of replacement.

The only thing we need is a supreme, world class striker, who can make the difference in tight, high profile games. Finally, what a fuckin STUNNING second goal we scored! :-)

Not much to say really other than that was very good. Really effective pressing. Nearly fell for Everton's 2nd half tactic of boring us all to sleep but managed to ride through it comfortably.

It's one of those games that seemed a bit tepid but will have helped with fatigue by the end of the season (hopefully).

Delph's head is still really shiny.

Incredible pass and strike for the opener and the hit from Rodri was sensational.

That aside it’s yet another 90 min domination job and yet another disaster of a performance from a ref and his mates in the VAR booth.

You're right about Sterling, it's all in his head. Sports Psyche needed.
