Leave Messi, Neymar and Mbappe to work with McTominay, Lindleof and Fred.
Falling over himself.
Do you remember when all they kept saying was we were trying to catch them? I used to correct them and say "No, we're trying to catch you, overtake you and leave you in the far distance".
I think they're beginning to understand it now.
So the criteria for the rags job is :
Have you won anything? - nope.
Are you a nice guy? - um I think so.
here’s a 5 year contract.
The gift that keeps on giving.
There's this commonly-held myth that 'the United DNA' was always there, and that Baconface just brought it back to life, like some football version of Jurassic Park. But, as others have said, their post-war success is down to two managers only, plus James Gibson's bankrolling of them. Both managers were given time and money to do what they wanted to do and that worked out well for them, but in the modern era there will be no more managers like Busby, Ferguson, Wenger or the other long-serving successful managers and certainly not at the Glazer-owned United, where cash is king. It's a myth built up by the arse licking media to sell more subscriptions and tabloid's, like the theatre of dreams nonsense. They got lucky that the formation of the big shiny new sky premier league era coincided with the beginning of Ferguson's success.

There's no guarantees of a top 4 place these days; there are 6 obvious potential candidates for those spots and others now snapping at their heels. If they miss out on CL for 2 consecutive seasons (which they've avoided by the skin of their teeth so far) there will be financial consequences and those could be the catalyst for a complete retrenchment and lead to them facing a long road back.
The answer for them should be getting in a good young coach that plays the way they expect and to have a complete clear-out of the old-guard of the coaching staff and players. They should be prepared to sacrifice top 4 if necessary to allow that manager to build something. But there's less than a 1% chance they'll do that, as not finishing top 4, or even the threat of not doing so, seems to be the trigger for the manager's P45. They'll almost certainly go back down the "He's won something, let's get him in" route, having tried that already with Mourinho and van Gaal. But neither of those really built anything patiently and building something is the thing they need right now. And Pochettino hasn't even won anything so what do they expect from him? But clearly there's no fucking plan if they need an interim to hold the fort before they appoint a caretaker who'll keep the seat warm for the next inshallah appointment.
And they'll continue with the mish-mash recruitment policy they have. I doubt Solskjaer had much say in some of the buys, as why would you buy players like Van Der Beek and Sancho for £120m, then not play them? He obviously had his doubts but didn't have the power or the balls to veto their transfers. So he didn't play them, which was his way of saying he didn't want them.
We may be the noisy neighbours but they've stolen our 'Comedy Club' title. The whole football world is laughing at them and long may it continue.
I watched the highlights this morning of their game. Having not seen the live game I may be wrong but it appeared that immediately the whistle went for full time PR37 was straight down the tunnel. If I was a rag fan at that game and had made the 15 mile trip to Watford from my home I would be pissed off by his lack of acknowledgement of the fans. This is what they get for bending over backwards to get PR37 back - the player is bigger than the Club, and if he doesn’t agree with your decisions, expect to see it in black and white all over the papers every morning.
Sure - it gave them a week of hysteria and shirt sales, and claims of ‘winning the transfer window’. But face it - that’s all they can win at these days.
Player power at its worst - and its fucking great to see it over there!
Naff off!Save our Fletch ...Norman Stanley Fletcher
Please, please, be true. We love you, Ed. We do.
There's more chance of ZZ Top becoming the next rags manager than ZidaneLooks like ZZ to PsG and Poch to Utd. Or at least thats what the utd media are saying
Why Two? Could be Three, Ten, Twenty or even Thirty! We could always run a 'Carrick In for Two Years' campaign using the acronym CITY
That story could have legs. There's more chance of ZZ Top becoming the next rags manager than Zidane
See that's were the genius of Bruce as manager lies. He can just say "oops Ronnie man I forget ta put yer name on the sheet like" and then say the same thing the following week. " Ah I'm well sorry like Ronnie I forgot me glasses mate" or "ah Jaysus Ron man me dog ate tge team sheet".... etc etc etc.I don’t think that they have a choice about starting old boy Ronnie.
My understanding is that he insists that he plays every game if fit enough, that he decides what constitutes fit and that it’s supported by his contract.
I’m interested to see how their next manager deals with this madness.
.That story could have legs.
