F1 Season 2021

Looks like Max was slowing down to give the place back to Hamilton (as per orders), which Lewis didn't realise and proceeded to plough into Verstappen.
Yeah, if you’re blind I imagine it looked something similar to that.

If you actually watched it then you see Max moved to the left at the last second.

The bloke is a ****, he’s a liability and he should have been disqualified. Can’t win a race without trying to take someone out. Thinks “racing” means failing to brake in time for the corner so just slide into the apex to push the other car off the line.

If there’s any justice in the sport, he never wins a championship.

I suspect that brake check + turn in is going to turn the tide of opinion against Verstappen.

That's just incredibly dangerous driving, and all of the drivers in the paddock know it.

Brundle, who pathetically defends his dangerous driving at every opportunity, has turned on him.
What will actually take for a driver to get a DQ?

Max committed, in football parlance, at least 3-4 yellow card offences yesterday. He’s a snide ****.

Verstappen is a proper dirty bastard but this race is bent. How many times did he try to give Lewis that place back - about three? And he still gets a 5 second penalty?!

Wonder what other shit the FIA will pull on the final race to hand Hamilton the trophy.
The fuck you on about?

That’s the exact opposite of what happened and so far you’ve done nothing but complain about Hamilton the person, Hamilton’s hair, his demeanour and now you invent your own reality in ‘Opposite World’.

Verstappen has received a post race 10 second penalty (which ultimately changes nothing).

I'm happy with that. Maybe it's a copout by the FIA but action was taken, and next week's action won't be spoiled for it.
So Brundle (who has forgotten more about F1 than any of us will every know…..) was wrong then was he and the posters calling Max out wthere re right.

Funny that.

Bottas was clearly backing up Max under the safety car to allow Hamilton to pit and return to the track in a good position as well as enabling Mercedes to double stack at the pit stop.
Bottas was doing it for himself and it had fuck all to do with helping Hamilton. He wanted the chance to be double stacked and to come back out ahead of Max.

How, in your mind, was it “really to help Hamilton”? That makes absolutely zero sense. Merc expected Red Bull to pit.

Bottas is a brilliant team mate and by backing / slowing the pack it enabled him to pit but also gave Hamilton that extra margin. It’s called tactics and it’s the right thing to do. It’s a minor point in a race full of chaos.

he just did, twice.

Bottas got a 5 place penalty in Hungary for taking out drivers. Max got a grid penalty in Monza for causing a collision. Where's his grid penalty for Abu Dhabi for "causing a collision"?
I agree he should have a penalty. I posted that before the stewards news broke. Brake testing is one of the most dangerous things you can do on a racetrack and he should be punished for it correctly.

Hamilton needs to be on pole next weekend, if he has to overtake him there will be more shenanigans from Verstappen.

They need to do something with that track in Saudi, it was lucky that Perez didn’t go out into the traffic when his car went sideways.
get the impression the Saudis probably mandated the fastest street circuit in F1 to outdo Baku and that's what we got. There'd have to be some very delicate talks to coerce them into tweaking it.

Two F2 drivers ending up in hospital and three standing starts from red flags in the f1 race, plus how many safety and virtual safety cars should give them inclination to change it.

There must be space to open up the blind turns and put some kerb there.

It needs corners that slow the cars down it’s that simple.

In its present form it’s a scalextric track.

i'm not usually a watcher of the F1, i find it a little bit samey , however i watched it yesterday and i couldn't take my eyes off it, very intriguing race, quite exciting if i'm honest , i will be watching next week,as long as city dont class(think city play saturday)

The FIA had more input into this track design than any other in F1 history according to Sky’s coverage.

So maybe worth giving the “Saudi’s” a break on this one. There’s plenty to have a go at the Saudi regime for, F1 track design probably isn’t in the top 100.

As I now repeat, he slowed Max so he could still double stack and get back out ahead of Max. It had nothing to do with Hamilton.

Track design aside, the spectacle was incredible and they should be rightly applauded for putting on an incredible show.

Im already looking forward to next years race and by the sounds of it, so are the drivers.
