Literally.Pointless game
Literally.Pointless game
Nothing new thereThere’s some very angry posters on here tonight! Haha!
You are being ridiculous here for me. So you crack on. If you were happy with that team sheet good for you. I wasn't.So now the problem is that people didn’t remove Kdb and grealish after 60-70 minutes. The only bad thing about that match is walker getting sent off, and that is on Kyle himself.
We took a positive situation and flipped it into a negative. Absolute shit show of a day’s work from Pep.
That we are EB, let them vent for tonight. Few missing posters miraculously returned tonight..In Mr Guardiola I trust. We are still the Best team in the land in all the world.
Quick as you can Pingers please. Won't sleep with all the stress after getting hammered in a crucial qualifier, plus all the kids heading-off to Liverpool where they will feel more loved.Big news. Looks like dead rubber might not be a truly accurate bridge term and maybe has a much earlier etymology
I’ll keep you all informed as I dig deeper into this

Its origin is actually from the card game 'rubber bridge' where in a three-competition game one team wins once it scores 100 points or more. If that is done before completing the three competitions, the remaining one is said to be dead rubber. But why call it a dead rubber, what does it mean?
Ask yourself, and in no way is this meant to be patronising, but why would he play the 3 most consistent players this season in a game where we have qualified? It’s a genuine questionThat important match was crying out for balls deep high intensity pressing football. Bernardo, cancelo and rodri should’ve played. Shirley?
Nice to see 2 people completely opposing each others views to the point that the first poster said it's horseshit but then mentioned usually liking the other posters views. Then the reply was not reactionary. No argument. Just a decent debate.Totally understand your point about intensity, keeping a run going, breeding confidence etc, all has merit and I'd be inclined to agree if we sent out our best 11 and did that. but that side whilst still being full of first teamers is at least half a dozen away from our best side and so i don't think its a problem for the players to shake that off instantly and switch back on for the weekend.
I also think peps prioritised using that as an experiment over keeping momentum going. I couldnt work out exactly what Pep was trying but First half especially we were set up differently than usual, seemed like he was trying something differently, fullbacks were tucked further in than usual and our 8s were a lot higher and wider than usual, whatever he was trying it's clearly not gone well but Peps always going to be innovating and that's the game to do it in.
As for the kids getting a game, it's unfortunate for them but they are in that environment daily, they know Pep doesn't hand out freebies and you have to work for it, most are 18/19 there's very few that get a sniff at that age even at lesser sides, if they're contemplating doing a Sancho they don't have the right mentality to be here anyway and won't be missed, they've got foden to look at as an example of how you get into this side, if he can bide his time, anybody can. we're not unique in this, most other top clubs are the same, you need only look at liverpools team tonight who are in the same situation, they've got 1 kid in and that's more down to a lack of options and the likes of Salah and mane and even Alisson are starting and they don't have the depth we have so you'd think they'd be more likely to play the kids.
